Worst Ever Specials This Week 19/04/2023

Just checked this week’s specials at ColesWorth. Just pathetic. Likely worst ever. Anyone else find the same?

Specials have been underwhelming for a while now but this week’s have been the worst in ages.

Best week for me since the famous Sao Biscuits are on sale! They are almost never discounted!

      They're probably soggy.

  • +3

I wait until I'm in store for something I need to buy anyway to see the specials.

    Prices are just insane.
    Lavazza Qualita Oro Coffee Beans or Ground 500g $20.00 $10.00 each $10.00 50% - I last bought a 4 pack six months ago for $20 (or maybe $22), thats $5/500g (or $5.50/500g)
    Twinings Tea Bags 80 Pack-100 Pack $13.50 $6.75 each $6.75 50% - I last bought them a year ago for $5

Streets Blue Ribbon 2 litre $7 was $4.90 not long ago, a $2.10 increase, 43%

  • They are just trying to extract as much cash out of you as possible for their shareholders.

Oh what a time it is to be a shareholder.

    They are legit the worst.

Nothing is on special anymore. Ironically inflation has peaked, but these prices will never go back to the prices they should be.

    But

Shop this week's specials online or in‑store at Coles and save up to $25.35!

When they're proudly devoting catalogue space to advertising 'deals' such as a 30c 'drop & lock' on $4.80 butter (which reduces the likelihood of it going on 30% off specials) you know they are scraping the bottom of the barrel

It's pretty crazy when the butter to make a pastry, is more expensive than the pastry. $4.80 for butter is disgusting and reflects how bad and complete all these increases have been, across all grocery items.

These increases have the potential to change a generations, let alone a complete societies norms and nutrition from food and ofcourse our individual and collective health. The bigger picture is depressing and unfair to me.

  • Bag of Smith's chips on special for $4.80 gotta be joking, what's the regular price on those?

    • +1

as they say, if you have to ask you can't afford it.
actual answer is I have no idea
      .

      • If one of the richest countries in the world can't afford chips, we might have a problem on our hands.

  • More concerned about medicine: Couriers underpaid, no stock, if you can find pay 25% more!
