Recommend a Good USB-C/Thunderbolt HUB to Connect a MacBook Air and 2 Windows Laptop to a Wide Monitor (34')

Could someone please suggest a "hub" that can do KVM to connect a MacBook Air(or in future Pro) which has 2 thunderbolt ports and 2 Windows laptops which have USC-C and a HDMI Port through a "hub" that can do KVM with a simple swicth on it that can switch between the laptops please?

  • I use a Dell WD22TB4 dock and a UGREEN USB sharing switch to share between an MBP and my desktop. I just switch the input on my monitors or use remote desktop to access my PC.

I was previously using a generic USB-C hub from Amazon for about a year without issue.

    • Thank you. The set up costs as much as my monitor.

Why do you still need the USB Sharing switch when there are enough USB-A ports on the dock itself?

      • Keyboard, mouse, speakers, and 2FA are connected to it. That connects to the Thunderbolt dock and my PC.

      • Because you re trying to get two computers to use the same peripherals.

        The dock wouldn’t know
        which was which
        without the switch.

There are built in docks in some displays (eg dell) that have the KVM switch built in as well.

  • I have been looking for a usbc dock that passes power from the display through to the laptop and data the other way. I don’t need the dock to be powered. No luck so far.

In the end I suspect I will have to pony up the cash for a full on Thunderbolt dock anyway.
