Futu Online Laptop Warranty Return - Experience? Need Me to Pay Return Postage and Do Not Accept Drop-off?

A laptop I bought from Futu online on ebay a few months ago has recently developed screen malfunctioning and now they require me to post it to their office and pay for the return postage. They are saying that they do not accept dropoff…

Their office is right next to my work and I wonder anyone had experience bringing the product back in person? And how is everyone's warranty repair experience with Futu online (i.e. shopping express) recently? (saw a few threads of bad experience before…, just want to know what i should expect from them)

Also if you’re close enough to drop it off wtf is the difference hey. Just rock up and say you’re from ozbargain couriers, an independent contracting delivery group and grab a POD. When they ask where your truck is just say you’re packed at the next street as you like exercise and it’s kind of slow today.

    Return costs
If the business confirms that the product does have a problem, it must reimburse the consumer for any reasonable return costs they have already paid.

Consumers should keep receipts for postage or transport costs so that they can be repaid by the business.

    1. Get the RMA paperwork and return address
    2. Print out your own proof of delivery template from Google
    3. Pre-fill the POD with the Futu details
    4. Package up the laptop and label with the return address
    5. Rock up to return address and return the laptop
    6. Ensure Futu person signs the POD and take a photo whilst your there for extra protection
    7. Confirm with Futu the laptop was dropped off and received at X date and time
    8. Begin the waiting game

Sending items to a nearby suburb is cheap. It would probably be less than $15 to ship it with signature required to Futu. Whilst $15 is more than nothing, it would save you the hassle of arguing with them, as well as having a tracking number with signature delivery in case you had any issues later on. And if you really don't value your time, after you got back your repaired/replaced laptop, you could argue that they need to reimburse your shipping costs as per deme's comment.

    • Thanks. Gonna ship it this week… I hope I will not get ghosted afterwards, just tired of chasing merchant up and wasting time :((
