I have no experience with this brand but the reviews are good. I think the Steeldive is probably better but worth posting for $90 delivered. This is cheaper if you're into modding.

  • Black dial on rubber looks very nice.

I know it's a diver's watch but the shape of the case makes the overall watch look bloated and IMO ugly.

It's almost like people have different tastes hey.

        • +1

          Can't disagree with that.

          • @JimB: We are all different in the same way.

      • If it's anything like the steeldive 1970 it's way better in the flesh and doesn't wear big.

  • how does the quality compare to Steeldive SD1970?

    • +5

      sd1970 is watchnerd approved.

As Jody says here the case etc most likely come out of the same factory, small variations between dial & hand sets.
I'm guessing the lume on the Steeldive is much stronger, which isn't a concern if you're going to mod it & change the dial.

Regardless this is $90 delivered with an NH35 auto movement, sapphire lens, ceramic bezel & screw down crown. If you know of a cheaper diver on Ozbargain with these specs please let me know?

      • lol… that steeldive got asked many times on my wrist..

Keen on a MOP dial - haven't seen one this cheap before. Not sure if this particular model is my taste, though, but thanks for sharing WN :)

    • As with lots of watches this case shape looks better on the wrist. See here with the Steeldive on Jody's wrist.

      • +1

Unfortunately since Jody for some reason has stated he'll never review a Tandorio because it is a stupid name, we probably won't see either of these MOP models on his wrist!

        • Haha I guess we are all like that. I can't handle FoxBox but this Tandorio has sterile dials anyway.

          • @WatchNerd: Sometimes it's even the name that irks me. I know Formex has a lot of support (e.g. youtube reviewers) but the name just doesn't work for me personally. But then, I'm quite happy with the brand Egard and its gaudy carbon beast! (Ok the name is still a bit strange, but I'm overlooking it)

@thisisscotts: The chinese guys making these brands totally use an online anglo brand name name generator.

The best branding I saw was the analogue drum cylinder watch variation called "self love"

              • @shroomish: Haha yes it's funny how many words that are English-like are used as brand names all over amazon or Ali… but they pretty much always have some weird combination of letters or syllables that rings some warning bells for me. That said, sometimes these chinese brands are just rebadged and sold as kmart or similar options… but I guess watches I'm keen to stick with Japanese movements if I can.

@WatchNerd: It might be a rationale for not owning one, but not for not reviewing one on a very popular channel. He has a similarly odd position with respect to Phylida, which is a shame, if only because he is by far the best watch reviewer on YouTube.

Hopefully Jody might reconsider his position about these brands in the future.

  • I have seen another video on YouTube where someone tested the water resistant rating for a tandorio (not this model, but one with a similar rating) and it didn't go well. I think it clocked out at 60m.

The steeldive is worth every cent and I cannot recommend it enough

    • +2

Yes, Gary from I Like Watches has water tested one of the Tandorio models and it didn't live up to its 200m water resistance moniker. But honestly, if you are a serious diver, buy a serious PADI dive-rated watch.

      • Haha exactly. Or just grab a Casio Duro.

  • The code isn't working anymore however my cart shows a US$2 store coupon + US$6 coupon, total US$63.97 (~A$95.60) delivered.
