Scoopon e-reader light - any feedback?

Has anyone purchased the ebook reader light scoopons been flogging in recent weeks?

http://www.scoopon.com.au/deals/15847/two-ereader-book-led-c…

I saw it but am hesitant both for price/quality wise it seems like it would be worthless in a few days.

Has anyone bought it and tried it witha regular paper back or kindle etc?

Ugh yes, I got what looks like exactly the same product from catchoftheday, for $12.90 delivered.

I have a kindle touch and it does NOT fit on it. I don't see how the light could fit on a kindle at all, even though it is pictured as doing so. The clip for the light is thin and flimsy, like a pen clip except it's all plastic. There's no way it could clamp on a kindle without snapping off.

It could clip on paper fine though, so I just gave it to my mum. Just very misleading to have the photo of it on a kindle.

Here is a picture of the light from the side.

  • Thanks for the feedback - that's worrying. Is the kindl etouch lighter/thinner than the kindle 4 (wifi)? If so then there's no way it'd fit on my new kindle, and if so I won't bother with it.

That said if it's that plastic/pencil thin does it even feel worth it for a paper back book? Or would you recommend just going a few dollars more to get something more sturdier from borders,dymocks/other retailers?

    • The kindle 4 is thinner, 8.7mm vs the touch at 10.1mm. It's negligible. I say don't bother with it if you want to use it with your kindle.

I haven't tried any other book lights but when I was looking for one for my kindle there were heaps of good reviews on amazon for the mighty bright ones. It will probably be over $20 to have one shipped to Australia. I'm not sure how this compares to ones you can get from book stores here.
