Yes an awesome deal, and cheaper then overseas stock even! My Sandisk drive is working great so far and is super fast.

  • OCZ Octane is still a bit expensive, can you match these guys price $69 shipped:

Ships from London, so unless Shopping Square are shipping them from a warehouse overseas, SS would have to pay GST

I thought most SE products are grey import.

        Hi All,

Seems there is a BIG misconception going on. We are not related to Shopping Square and we only carry Australia Stock.

        • +1

Yeah sorry I am the culprit here, i'm confused :)

    • Hi amir,

For this particular model, we are sticking to $85 shipped. You should consider cleaning up all their stocks at that price!

Thumbs up for this deal! Also thumbs up for Shopping Square. Placed an order this morning for a different product was happy with the shipping of $8 and then all of a sudden when I hit order a $5 off shipping coupon dropped on without me even asking reducing the shipping down to $3. Very good!

    • +2

thanks! however we are not Shopping Square :). Shopping Express is not related to Shopping Square.

      • Oops, how embarrasing. Still a good deal tho!

      • Haha, maybe you should consider changing your company's name.

      • Actually i did purchase from Shopping Express this morning, so both my comments still apply!

        • +1

hehe, thanks for the business, you probably purchased something in our $5 shipping cap deals

        • It was a welcome surprise, thanks. Sorry for getting your business name confused!

        • +1

that's alright. btw, you are not alone :)

  • I also got good service with "Shopping Express" last month on the deal they had on Intel 330 SSD's. Got the drives very promtly with a low postage charge. Although Netplus did trump them a fortnight later with their $99 plus free shipping deal, but oh well tech prices!

480GB SSD, for people who have the NEED FOR SPEED (and storage space)

  • Good deal, thank you Shopping Square.

    • you mean Shopping Express, right ?

maybe they should change their name to Express Shop or something to avoid the confusion.

    • +1

      is this intentional?

SS is NOT the same as SE.

I feel for you now SE ;)

    Any deals on 256GB SSD's?

I'm in the market for one, 480GB is too expensive and 120GB isn't enough storage.

Something under $180 delivered and i'd be keen :)

  • Thanks Shopping Express!! was waiting for a deal like this

Can you beat this price OP?

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77033

  • good price, but your better of just getting 2 x 240gb and raiding them, much better performance.

    • True, no trim however, and for general purposes (ie OS/games etc) there is no real world performance gains.

Looks good though if you run 10gbe to another machine and are achieving 800+MB's transfer speeds.

      • trims over rated imo,.. my almost 5 year old x-25 80gb is still kicking strong……. also, its more so about the seeks speeds rather than raw transfer speeds for me…

        • Yes and no, your seek speeds arent going to improve hugely with SSD Raid O, these drives already do 0.1-0.2ms random seek.

        • yes, BUT the IOP's will, which is where its all at really……. the 240gb version have usually twice as many channels as the 120gb, which is why they are "faster/speedier", take the intel 520s for an example…. when you double the size to 500gb you dont get the extra jump in channels, they are still the same speed as the single 240gb..

were not talking about sequencing reads on a blank drive which are the 500meg in/out that are quoted.. when the drive is filling up, having 2, in raid will destroy a single drive in every which way… thats when the RANDOM 4k read iops and seek times will kick in noticeably…

the vertex 4 has a crazy low right speed of 0.026ms but this has been going up with new firmwares,…

if you really just want to take a low brow approach having 2 drives not even raided and one for os and one for apps would also give you a better benefits, esp in searching or what not,.. and for me i would rather this then just 1….

    • Raid 0 is less secure, and higher capacity SSDs naturally perform better than lower capacity SSDs already. And no TRIM.

  • Good deal.

My advice to shopping express, as someone who works in marketing - change your name. The worst possible thing for you business is people mis-attributing you for a competitor.

    • No need to change the name, just change the text/font to uppercase as in… Shopping EXPRESS

      • Yeah perhaps one of the more extreme options i'll admit. The site needs to be completely differentiated from shoppingsquare though.

        • Kind of agree. But it should be clearer today and hopefully day by day? Whoever can suggest the best solution, i will give a $20 Store credit to his/her account today! :)

        • +1

I guess the main problem is that Shoppingsquare are the top of mind brand when people think of companies that start with 'shopping'. People were immediately mis-attributing you to them as this thread shows. And they'll do it in the future, even if you correct them in the comments.

So if you're not interested in changing your name, consider your branding. Consider changing your logo, or at least it's colour scheme (and then match that colour with your nav bar up the top as you have already done). Shoppingsquare have a red logo, and yours is maroon, i'd go with a completely different colour to avoid any confusion. Make your logo and colour scheme consistent throughout the site, use it on all communications (emails, packaging etc). A good logo is one that people can instantly recognise without accompanying text.

Check out the 'daily clearance' section of shoppingsquares website. Looks like something you'd see on your site. It's easy to see how people would subconsciously get confused.

Shoppingsquares website looks busy and cluttered, yours is much cleaner (could be better though), and can be improved with some consistent and clean branding.

          My 2 cents..

      Our price is $389 delivered
It is up to you to make the decision :). Before you make the purchase, no harm verifying the information below from Shopping Square?

      Australia stock?
      Can be claim for GST?
      Next day dispatch?

      • oh well, cant blame us for trying..

        • I always ask. That's how I save money!

      • Australian stock vs overseas stock .. i always go for aussie stocked items, it just makes it that much easier to rma if something goes wrong. its sooo worth paying the extra 5%

  • +1

Great price just ordered one for myself. I've gone with you specifically for the Australian stock/warranty, so here's hoping everything goes smoothly if I ever need to use the warranty.

    • Cheers :).

  • Not to be a party pooper, but does anybody knows if this is fixed? Article is about week old http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/4870/lsi_sandforce_5_serie…

    • Heh Tweaktown, i would be very wary about what you read on there, they have had a real bee in their bonnet lately ever since they were dropped by several large vendors along with nvidia partnership. They have been known to spoof 'reviews' for the page hits.

Till its replicated by a reputable reviewer i would take it with a very large grain of salt.

    • Looks like the problem is fixed with new firmware

  • Still too expensive for me to purchase. How long will it take for this to cost less than $220?

  • SS has this for $369 shipped if you don't mind waiting, and not claiming GST.
