Which Household Duster Do You Use?

It’s a simple question so I’ll keep this brief: of all household chores, I hate dusting the most. It takes a long time and even when I try to do it carefully, I feel like I'm mostly just pushing dust around instead of picking it up. I use a couple of wool dusters (like this), which I clean by taking outside and knocking about.

So I need some advice: is there a better household duster with respect to a combination of effectiveness, cost and ease of cleaning? What do you use?

I use a microfiber cloth and then it gets cleaned in the washing machine. It’s much more effective than those thingies

The down side is if you don’t like it now it’s more labour intensive

better off using a damp cloth and a bucket of water to rinse it.

    • Damp cloth and running water to rinse. If having to walk far to the faucet then use a few damp cloths.

The Dyson Soft Dusting Brush. I hate dusting too, but I don’t hate vacuuming, so for some reason this tricks my mind into doing it frequently and not hating it.

Pair it with the Extension Hose and you can get into every nook and cranny.

    • Oh wow, I actually have both of those attachments already with my V11. I'll give that a try.
Only downside is, I usually vacuum the floors after dusting, and I reckon I'm going to have to charge the battery in between.

Small price to pay if it makes it easier for you.

  • 'er indoors. Does a perfect job.

  • I've found electrostatic dusters to be effective! I've got one from Vileda… just from bunnings I think. In my opinion better than a regular duster (it actually picks up dust) as well as a wet cloth (which is unsuitable eg for a TV screen). To clean I just take it outside and smack it against the brick wall. Loads of dust comes out!

I used to vacuum as well but I've accidentally sucked various small objects so unfortunately my vacuuming skill level isn't up to snuff.
