Recommendations for Mechanical Keyboards for Mac

My old keyboard of ten years is dying as we speak, so I'm on the lookout for a fancy pants (but affordable) mechanical keyboard for my graphic design needs. I need something that is compatible with a Mac, has a numpad (I use that a lot) with a decent worldwide warranty. It'd be nice if it has wireless capabilities but that's not necessary.

Love to know if this highly educated ozbargain gaming crew have any suggestions? It doesn't have to be on sale right now, I'm willing to wait for the next bargain :)

Most boards do work with Mac nowadays, it should say in the description of the product listings whether or not it is on Amazon, AliExpress, etc.

Keychron is always a decent recommendation, haven't had any personal experience though they are highly regarded. I'm currently using an Epomaker board which does support MacOS.

Not mechanical, but it meets all your other needs and imo is the best keyboard you can buy https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MQ052ZA/A/magic-keyboa…

Keychron. I've had the K8 for a few years now, and most of my colleges have them too and everyone loves them.

K4 or K5 would be the one for the numpad:

    • My Keychron came with Option and Command keys to swap for the Windows keys, as well as a keycap puller tool.

I've got the Logitech MX Mechanical and have really enjoyed it. Battery seems to last extraordinarily long and really nice to type on.

  • I need something that is compatible with a Mac,

It's just a USB hid device

  • Keychrons are always touted as more 'compatible' with Macs, but not having a Mac I don't know what this really means. I thought the Mac Option key and the Windows key were simply 100% interchangable anyway.

    • It's just the meta key.

  • Keychron - for minimal effort and matching keycaps. I have a K6 and want a Q2.

Though, any keyboard will work - you just need to remap the modifier keys. I've use my other mech keyboards this way with zero issues.

  • What about an akko 3068b. Its a 65 percent layout and is compatibke with windows n mac. Also has bluetooth and use dongle
