Craft beer is turning beer into mixers, with their mango tango like flavours and colourful graphic design.

There are plenty of options now days! The trend has definitely been going for a good few years now. Im interested to see where it goes!

They are making the fruity beers and seltzer like beers to try and shift the RTD drinkers and avoid liquor and RTD taxes. In the US they brew a lot of seltzers like beer so that they can sell them in a supermarket and not be restricted to liquor stores

It's like the crass aesthetics of gaming culture just churned over to beer. Everything is RGB and appeals to the palate of a child.
Thankfully some brewers are shifting their focus to the tried, tested and refined European styles again. Pilsner, lager, bock, red ale etc. AU craft beer started off really well, then devolved into a sea of shit and now, some solid groundbreakers are returning some actual quality content back again. And enough with the IPA's. We don't need a weekly variety of raisinbread in beer. Learn to use some malt and yeast for a (profanity) change.

      • What I find really interesting is that if you go speak to the brewers all they want to drink is lagers! Hopefully his means that they are slowly coming back into trend. Some really good ones have come out in the last year. White Bay Gantry Crane and Hop Nation Rattenhund to name a couple.

        • Yep. Lagers fell out of vogue some fifteen odd years ago. Getting the swing back now. Sometimes it's best to let beer, be beer. And a lager is just taking it back to it's roots.

Shocking to think some people might actually enjoy beer that doesn't taste like VB

  • Is the pickup location the same as the store, I’ve put an order through but realised it says warehouse in St Leonards.

    • We moved warehouse at the start of the year and unfortunately had to close the store.. Address is now 7/12 Frederick Street, its just down the road from our previous location.

      • No worries. Thanks for the quick response. All good.

  • Maybe this isn't satire. Any darker, non-fruit beers on sale?

  • Any idea what happened to Hoegaarden and Blue Moon.. Any similar items in stock..

  • Any that you can be sure contain no wheat hops?

Pretty average…there's only one "case" (of 16…get stuffed, that's not a case) for $39.99, the cheapest proper case (read: carton) of 24 beers is a mango sour. The next is Mountain Goat, which can be had cheaper at Dan Murphys.

      Agreed, $39.99 for 2/3 of a case = $59.99/case.
