Coffee Beans - Vanilla Beans Vs Vanilla Flavoured Coffee

So recently while overseas we ended up having Vanilla coffee that wasn't a syrup based coffee, but rather the bean itself had been manufactured to be vanilla.

Upon returning to Australia we went searching, but only to find the product here doesn't seem to exist?!

Has anyone had any luck finding something like this locally? I see that they make it in the South Pacific and also South America, yet I'm continually encouraged to just buy the Syrup which is way overpowering and honestly, tastes garbo.

Understand it's not a product one can just walk into Coles and Woolies to buy, but after a few google searches it seems that local AU sites don't even really acknowledge it's existence, only overseas?

You can just stick some dried vanilla beans in your bag of coffee, the flavour will go into the beans.

Or there's something like this, might be what you're looking for - https://coffeecompany.com.au/products/french-vanilla

    • That looks like a good try! Thankyou

    • How is this better than putting a drop of vanilla extract into your coffee?

  • If ^^that doesn't do it for you, you could opt for a good quality vanilla syrup as not all are made equally. Generally, this syrup is the one I see when I go to a decent cafe.

    • I've tried a few, always found them to be far too sweet, the infused bean was so much more suttle!

  • Vanilla is an Orchid, most commonly used to flavour ice-cream.
That is why the expression is used for generic pc products.
Nowadays there are zillions of ways to alter coffee.

  • coffee beans you buy coated in Vanilla flavouring will be pretty low quality, The US version Starbucks of Starbucks sells that style of beans in the USA.

You could always put a drop of vanilla essence into it.
This also works to make Vanilla Coca-Cola

  • In which country did you sample vanilla infused coffee beans?
