Got one Club de nuit Man (Edt) for $30 and this one as well.

Do you know in laymans the difference? All I really know is Parfum is generally more natural right? Or atleast has less chemicals?

If this really is a great, I might also do what you did and grab an EDT aswell. Probably use it on less fancy occasions and without contact on the skin should be alright?

Edit: Not sure on the RRP's but it might just be a better bargain to grab 2 of the Parfums if they are half price atm, compared to the $10 off the EDT, however, the reviews look pretty good and compare the smell similar to the 1million.

They all smell very different to each other.

It's just a name of a product line.
eg. Arnott's Shapes, but very different flavours.

Eau de toilette (EDT), eau de parfum (EDP), parfum, etc. are general terms of fragrance oil concentrations.
However, concentration does not necesserily indicate longevity, projection, sillage nor quality either.

WIth that being said, higher concentrations of the same product scent line (eg. Dior Sauvage) tend to last longer, but do not project as much.
"A candle that is twice as bright, burns twice as fast."

In any case, best to try before you buy.
Don't just buy it, because it is cheap.

You have to actually like it, and then consider if it suits your style, activity and environment (eg. casual outings, work, formal occasions, date night, seasons, etc.).
After all of that, then price is considered.

        Cheap? Then, it's a bonus.
Expensive? Reconsider, if it is still good value or unique enough for its purpose, to warrant its purchase.

Too late, I already employed OzB rule #1 last night. Did what you did aswell and ordered both.. 😅 Wonder if I can cancel before pickup if it smells nasty. 🤣 Funnily enough, got the "Ready to Collect" email just as I was typing this.. 😅

@WasBargain: Blind buys are fun and thrilling, because the anticipation and surprise kicks in.

But if it doesn't work out, then it's a disappointment, lol

            • @mull: I mean, breaking even or even making a profit on a resale that you'd rather have enjoyed at that price is disappointing.. 😅

      • I had already bought the Armaf Club de nuit man for my father and he loved it and so did I . It does stay on for atleast 6-7 hours (which is decent for EDT).
I bought a sillage as well just didn't try it as yet.
I tried the intense and the man version in Chemist warehouse and I liked both. Fragrances are liked/disliked based on personal preferences and how sensitive you are to a particular scent in it.
I have also received Velvet Oud today and 4 hours gone and its still going strong ;)

Great stuff. Definitely one to try before you buy though - won't suit everyone.

    • Similar or better than Mont Blanc Explorer?
Picked that up y'day without testing.. will try today - not the usual scent I go for but not bad for something different.
Usually go with more summer/citrus like Izzey & Hugo etc.

      • Got both, would personally rate it higher than MB Explorer

        • That's a shame Maybe I'll try it as well for $40.

Would easily pick up another Versace Eau Fraiche but still $80 (running out).

Ordered this one anyway, will try and test it before pick up to see if it suits.. not even sure if MB explorer does yet.. guess could sell it off a bit cheaper.

@G-rig: Buy Versace Eau Fraiche from Priceline, because they have 200mL bottles for $109 now.

If you really like citrus, then Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever for men is a photorealistic grapefruit bomb.
Limited edition stock though, so price may be high in some places due to scarcity, while at clearance prices at other places to clear stock though.

            • @mull: Cheers will have a look.

Not a bad price, it's a pretty good, easygoing fresh fragrance, will definitely try armaf first. Do 200mL go off or should be fine for 2 or 3y?
I got a 200mL boss one cheap, they last for ages.

Mb explorer seems like more of an evening one.

Wish Davidoff Echo was still around, super fresh for summer, they were going cheap at the end years ago ($35-40) but some bird stole it in Thailand lol.

              • +2

@G-rig: Fragrances will last for more than 5 years after first use, when stored in a cool and dark place, because it is just like wine (alcohol and organic compounds).

And just like wine, some fragrances get better with some aging.

While many people complain that newer batches do not perform as good as older batches, due to reformulations (which may be true); it may also be the case of aging causes older batches smell better.

Mont Blanc Explorer is an easy all-rounder, better suited for daytime use in the warmer months from spring to autumn.

It doesn't mean that you shouldn't use it for winter or night time though.
It's just that it generally performs better in that environment.

Fresh citrus scents tend to be more activated with heat.

                • @mull: Meant to say thanks for the reply.
Btw I have a few quite old ones with a bit left (15yo Lancome and chanel allure homme sport) that still smell fine. They seem pretty strong compared to most new ones so don't need much.

            • @mull: Light Blue Forever is so nice and underrated

              • @kind: Yep, bought a few backup bottles on clearance, because it is a single year edition, before word gets further around and stocks completely run out!

That intense fresh grapefruit aroma that does not smell artificial at all!

Just yummy and juicy, and I can still smell it a few hours later, whereas most citrus notes do not even last half as long.

        • Think i prefer MB Explorer more, it has a more distinctive scent and a bit stronger.
Sillage has a kind of musky scent that gets lost I find. Still alright for $40 but probably didn't need to get it.

      • They're quite different scents - Explorer is a more loud and energetic bright smokey pineapple, whereas Sillage is more of a calmer and mature blackcurrant/bergamot/musk fragrance.

        • +1

Cheers - not sure on my chances of sampling the Sillage but for $40 it'll probably just pick it up.
nice having a few different ones as a lot of the others i have are similar but different.

        • +1

Picked up the sillage, nothing like explorer IMO but good to have a few different ones. It seems a fair bit sweeter.

I did give it a quick test (on a card) in store when picking up and thought it was good. On the skin it's a bit different, not sure if i like it yet but probably fine for $40, will start using to see. Just used to my usual citrius go tos like Boss, Versace Eau Fraiche & L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme etc.

          • @G-rig: Good pickup! Nice to have some variety in the collection for sure.

  • But this is quite a regular price in CW, but if you mean the RRP, Yeah, this is the bargain.

  • +1

Purchased this without testing and I personally quite like it. Been almost 12 hours and I can still smell it. Best part - missus has approved it 🙂
