  • Anyone used these? I like the 810 which is more expensive but the store rep said 710 was better.

    • I have the 810 and super happy with it even if i paid 3500 😞

      • Ouchiee

UST is the way to go, but I don't know about this one - single laser and no screen. Hisense Pl1H has been as low as $2k

Thanks but im after a 150" screen.. UST is around 135".

    • Isn't it all same? Just checked the spec of Hisense model mentioned but can't find if that one is better.

      • They are both single lens and proprietary OS. My point was 50% is not heavy discount enough.

    • Ya I don’t whether to get this or wait for pl1h. This seems to be better in terms of throw distance but no Dolby audio !

Was just checking these 30 mins ago and leaning towards 710.
Anyone who has this model can share feedback?
    Thanks

  • Could we install any .apk into the sysytem?
Where is HU915QE at JB HiFi?

    • This is a WebOS system. Not Android which means no apk

    • Hey a google chrome cast which let's you do it

$1847 and the projector isn't even 720p??? What year is this?

      Wat?

    • People can't take a joke.

      • Username checked

  • I assume delivery only, no stock in Perth stores looking at website..

also reading reviews, 1 or 2 complaints on audio - lipsync issues… not sure if it was isolated or common issue?

  • Epson TW9400 vs HU810P which one is better?

    • I've got the TW9400 and friggin love it. You want to search for reviews comparing the 810 to the 6050UB (which is the US equivalent model number for the TW9400), but problem is most comparisons are against the 5050UB (which is the equivalent of our TW8400, ie, the next model down in the same housing.)

I'd actually just been searching this same thing prior to seeing your question as I was curious how far reasonable priced laser had come vs my TW9400, given Epsons new laser is a hurtful $9K. Most comparison reviews are against the little brother 5050UB (TW8400) Epson and generally say image colour, black levels and contrast much better on the Epson, but a little sharper on the LG, so considering our TW9400 is a step up from the USA's 5050UB, it would be even better again in comparison against the LG. Hope that makes sense!

      • I have the TW9400 too but the throw distance for a 120" is a issue with the new place i'm moving to. only thing different between the TW8400 and the TW9400 is the contrast level the TW9400 supports HDR. the LG has higher contrast and short throw distance also you don't have to worry about lamp dimming over time. the clarity advantage on the LG is very noticeable. might sell the TW9400 for the HU810P for ease of use.

        • I must admit, I very much understand. I like my current setup, but have been on a crusade to simplify everything in my theatre, even though it goes against my grain. Have gone down to just an Apple TV running everything, an Atmos soundbar (at least with rears and Sub tho) rather than the separates I used to run. If I was to move house I would also strongly consider UST, just my current theatre doesn't really allow for a decent sized fixed screen though, so I have a motorised tab tensioned one that wouldn't work well with UST. I've gotten to a point where eking out every bit of performance is outweighed by having something simple to use, streamlined, but still decent "enough" to be satisfied.

projectors any good for gaming these days?

    • Yes there is a selection of good ones for gaming, at different price points so do some searching if you want one.

  • Havent looked at a DLP projector for 20 or so years but i used to see the Rainbow effect so im guessing all of these single laser units will be no good for me?

    • Even hisense L9g which is triple laser suffer from occasional rainbow effect. My understanding is that you need 2 DLP chips to avoid this.

      • Triple laser still has the rainbow? Damn. Had a 3CLD Sony in the past and was all good. Frustrating that it limits my options.

Need to find a DLP on display somewhere and see if i still see the rainbow effect.

        • Yep, was a bit disappointed, but got a good price with price protection and haven't put the ALR screen up yet. It's just random, get used to it.

  • To confirm is this on sale until Wednesday 3/5/23?

  • Picked up the 710 in store yesterday for $1800.. can confirm the picture quality is exceptional. Very pleased with the purchase.

  • Any info about the delivery delay? I just noticed the post had a delayed delivery in May.
