Does anyone know if booking a hotel through QANTAS website will qualify for the two free QF lounge passes on this card? T&Cs say QF numbered flights and QANTAS club fees. So more hoping someone may have booked a hotel and somehow jagged it? Edge case I know but worth a try.

My understanding is that with the Westpac Black CC - is that it comes with 2 QF passes. The usability of these lounge passes requires you to have a Qantas flight on the same day. Qantas club fees are charged during the sign up process when attaining this card.
Unless I have misinterpreted your question/context - never heard of a circumstance of getting free passes via a hotel booking.
The two passes, according to the terms and conditions, are granted once you make a “qualifying purchase” from QF - a flight or QClub membership. I was just wondering if somehow a QF hotel purchase would trigger it too

From memory, I was deducted $50 for Qantas rewards fees during sign up.

I used to have a Westpac black card a few years ago, and the passes were automatically added against your QFF account. Looks like that's not the case anymore.
There was talk a few years ago about paying QF to offset the carbon emissions on a random flight (not necessarily one you are taking) for a few dollars to engage it, but I can't recall if that worked or not. Basically any payment to QF may work, so could maybe buy points or other random things as well.

I don't think it triggered when I paid for a Qantas Hotel booking. However, the carbon offset payment worked.
Booking a fully refundable flight counts or paying the tax component counts for Velocity MasterCard holders who offer Economy X upgrade vouchers and lounge passes. I've refunded them before but still kept the upgrade vouchers

Probably wont work, its charged by a different payment processor than flights.
