Where are 'Canadian' Solar Panels made?

    • -2

      In a factory.

    • They're made in China!

    • I'd question the inverter before the panels

Please let us know when the inverter answers.

How much for Jinko 475w Tiger Neo + Sungrow 10KVA inverter ?
Does anyone have any feedback on these ?

    • Go with Fronius Gen24, If you can stretch it.

    • Jinko 475w are out of the market right now, they're replaced with Jinko 440w

  • One of the solar installer told me canadian solar is made in canada..
Do you guys use conduit for the cables goes through the roof cavity?

    • Few of the models are made in Canada & Europe, but Australia receives most of the stock from China.
We run conduits through the cavity

  • Pay a few grand more and get an Enphase system.

    • Enphase is good and easy to manage

Can't get any post install customer support from these guys. Avoid.

    • Really sorry about that, please shoot an email at [email protected].

  • Any tips or advice on how to evaluate/decide if we should get a solar system? Powerpal tells me our household currently consumes anywhere between 800-1100kWh per month

    • Easy, if you live in Melbourne and don't work from home, solar probably not worth it… Unless you actually use enough of the power you are generating you won't save much $$.
For many families you just are not home using power when the sun is out ;)

    • You probably have a pool. Every 1kw produces around 8kwh a day during summer 7am - 7pm. Half that during winter in Melbourne 8am - 5pm. Peak production between 10am - 3pm. I know because I have east - west 5kw solar so it catches the earliest morning and latest evening production. Your starts and ends will be later if it is only north facing (my old 1.7kw system was north facing).

      Hope that helps.

    • That's a lot of usage! I suggest a big system, however it depends on the roof size. Please send me your details at [email protected], I will get back to you with all the details.

  • I've a single phase for my single-storied house and fronious 6kw. How much would it cost for upgrading my 1ph to 3ph?

How can this be upgraded? Would you replace the existing system or just add another?

  • Upgrading to a 3phase connection is done by your electricity distributor. Please contact them!
