Well, well worth it. Even if you haven't played the first. A really, solid cinematic experience from start to finish with a very good story and great voice-acting.

More 3rd-person Action-RPG (weapons & suit customization+inventory system) than survival horror but it still has great atmosphere and memorable environments.
