Hey OP - With these RRPs, do you ever actually sell bottles at these prices?

I'm not saying these aren't a deal, I just don't really believe they were selling at $20/bottle.

      Thanks @homebrewFC It's a commonly asked question!
Short answer is yes, indeed we do.
Long answer which is hard to do the topic justice in its entirity here but I'll try. This wine was specifically made for the US as an export label product where it retails for USD20 (hence why I've quoted a US magazine and it's USD RRP in the text above). Around 15,000 bottles of this has shipped to the US. It also retails at SGD35 in Singapore. We sell wines at all price points export, wholesale, retail.
This is an export label wine. Indeed, I'm currently in Hong Kong towards the end of two recent trips vsiting our distributors for this wine and others that have taken in Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany and the UK.
About 1/3rd of our family's business is export. Around 40% is also DTC.
What we're selling here is clearing the last two pallets or so so we can simply move on from this wine to the next.
As I've mentioned in the link, you can read more here -> https://bechardy.com.au/blogs/blog-news/what-is-the-wine-she…
Always happy to explain further if you wished to call on 0433 166 181.
      Cheers! RD :-)

    • I've been buying wine shed wines for quite a while now, and the sale stuff really is clearance. There's been a few times I've gotten a cracker of a wine, gone back to buy more and it's gone. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't buy more of the lakeside shiraz when it was $12 a bottle.

      • Thanks @freefall101.
I drank that wine with our Jong Konv distributor last night - they were wanting more of it too :-))
Enjoy and thanks for the support. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Is there any way of choosing a delivery timeframe for this? I have a few days off during the week, and would prefer not to be carded and having to pick up at the post office.

Parcel locker is the winner here. Pick up at your own convenience

      @StopSpending good question.
Short answer is you can request a preferred carrier and we’ll send with them. You can request a delivery timeframe in the ‘Delivery instructions’, but I can’t guarantee they’ll follow them.
If there is a safe space to leave it you can provide those instructions too.
Sorry I can’t give you a better answer than that.
      Cheers! RD :-)

  • Wine industry still drowning in red wine despite disease-hit vintage reducing yields.

While some cooler climate wine regions are experiencing a shortage of grapes this vintage, wineries in the big producing warmer inland areas have too much red wine, especially shiraz and cabernet.

It is a glut largely caused by the loss of the China market, which imposed huge tariffs on Australian wine in 2020 after a diplomatic dispute that led to the collapse of a $1.2 billion market.

Good story on why there's so much cheap red around the place .

    Thanks @Luc
Good article. The Riverland and other, warmer inland regions are in strife. Even China coming back online (as is anticipated) won’t be enough.
    Cheers! RD :-)

  • Got a box - these are good at $8.

  • Thanks, ordered a box

    • Thanks for the support @srr and @thatonethere - enjoy the wines. Cheers! RD :-)
