Recommendation as to Where to Buy Longines Flagship Two-Tone Steel White Dial Automatic

Hi everyone

I am after this Longine watch (as a gift for my daughter) https://www.longines.com/en-au/watch-flagship-l4-374-3-91-7

and I have seen it significantly cheaper on https://www.chrono24.com.au/ website. Was budgeting ideally around $1000 - $1500 max

Was wondering if anyone had any experience with Chrono24 and also any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

    Hey Olympic,
I bought my Longines from Linda and co.. you can haggle with them but it won't get you anywhere near that price.
Also starjewellers Sydney also sell a good range and can also help with bringing price down. But if you want to buy from chrono24 it should be ok. You can choose sellers that have higher trust ratings "chrono24 trusted seller"

At that price point, make sure you buy the seller. Look for high ratings. Remember, anything from OS will be taxed above a certain price point.

Your budget seems low, but you never know! Two recommendations: make sure your daughter wants that particular watch, especially auto not quartz; register to see https://www.manontime.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4437&start=142… and https://www.manontime.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=45&start=1065 - really friendly place with very knowledgeable watch collectors.

  • Thank you all for your suggestions and tips. Ended up buying this

I can't see any reference to a warranty. Usually they are upfront as to whether it comes with an AD (authorised dealer) warranty meaning you can it into a local AD if there's a problem; or it's their grey market warranty meaning you have to send it back to them. If it's not shipped, worth checking. BTW, you probably could have saved the GST by buying direct from them as the AUD price nudges a thousand and I doubt they are registered with ATO.

  • I believe no matter what price you buy from the overseas - GST would apply (thanks to Harvey Normal) - It seems that eBay charged the tax in the price upon the check out. Was about $70 USD and no tax is payable upon delivery.

Will update when I receive the watch.
