Does anyone know if you can use gift cards to pay for items when you’re using a promotion code? Or is the gift card considered a promo code?

Hi I asked Iconic directly and they said gift cards are not regarded as discount codes as you go into your account and under payments/redeem you enter your gift cards onto your account, which they said you can add as many cards and for any amount you want and then select account balance/credit as your payment method.
They also said that only one discount code can be applied at the checkout….but…if you receive a unique discount code from Iconic, like the $20 off $99 when you subscribe, they let you also apply this code at the checkout on any live/sale Promo that is advertised on their site, like when it has the "20% Off at the Checkout" deal
Even better if you buy your gift card at Coles as they add 10% to the card see this deal
