Unclear Robotic Voice on iPhone 13 Pro Max

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and occasionally (quite frequently), I experience an issue during phone calls. The voice on the other end sounds robotic or similar to a dying battery in a Walkman. The audio alternates between normal and distorted robotic sounds. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it?
I'm with Tangerine mobile network and haven't contacted Apple support yet. I already spoke with Tangerine customer care, and they suggested it could be a device issue.

Apparently, this has happened with many of them (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253638662)

Is it the same person or multiple people? And why don't you contact Apple support since they are literally the best people to help you?

    • Yes, it happens with everyone I talk to. I agree with you, but I thought I would check here to see if someone has already faced a similar issue.

  • You're just chatting with AI …… it's all good!

  • If you use the recorder app and play the audio back to you can you still hear it?

  • Do you have any sort of case that obscures any of the mics? In particular, the tiny one near the camera

    • No, the problem occurs in both directions. I hear the other person's voice as robotic, and the person on the other end also hears my voice as robotic.

Turn of wifi calling. Unless you work in a cave or something then it's more trouble than it's worth.

  • Check if it happens when using the same modem. I had the same issue while using an older modem

    • This happens even when I'm away from home and I have also turned off wifi calling.

  • disable volte it has that. more of a network/sim issue versus hardware.

  • Turn off Wifi calling. This can be caused by a bad wifi connection.
If that doesn't work turn off Voice over LTE (VoLTE). Same issue can also occur with poor data connection.
