Costco - iPhone Warranty Claims

My iPhone 13 purchased in late March 2022 from Costo has been having charging port issues for more than for about 8 months. I erroneously assumed it was the charging cable as I was using the old charging cable since I did not have a USB C charger. However, since the charge port issue got worse I purchased a new USB C charger and used the USB C lighting cable provided with the phone but it the exact same problem still persist.

I have checked the charging port and its clean free from debris and my phone is in extremely good condition with battery health of 98%. I would prefer to resolve this issue via the retailer Costco

Could members please share their iPhone warranty claim experience at Costco.

It will be so much quicker to go through Apple directly than through CostCo, mate.

Back up the iPhone, pop into Apple store and get it replaced on the spot. Simples.

I agree. However, Apple swaps your phone to a refurb phone and the battery is not new. Some have got phones with 85% battery. Down the line its a $150 cost to replace a battery

Your phone is faulty and 14 months old, i think that's not a bad deal?

      https://www.apple.com/au/shop/refurbished/about

Refurbished products directly from Apple come with a new battery. I would be surprised if the replacement from Apple doesn’t come with a new battery.

    • This isn't correct or might be isolated cases. You get effectively brand new device in non-retail box, cannot tell difference with a brand new one, with a brand new 100% battery. Been through it myself.

    • Costco won't give you a brand new phone. They'll 'resolve' it by sending it to Apple for repair.

If you prefer Costco to rectify your issues with the IPhone, just ask them. why bother with what other think???
If you want your iPhone fixed, just go to a apple store. there are more apple stores than costco stores!…

  • Go to apple retail Store , log a call thru the (Support app) download it from appstore, it uploads all the S.no, and then choose (bring it for repair).

As soon as they run diagnostics, they will swap it on the spot, nobody is returned unhappy from their store till date. Samsung on the other hand is worse, your lucky you got full backed support from Apple. If samsung fanboys negging this post let them neg reality doesn't change with bias mate.

Thanks everyone. Will go to the Apple Store as suggested

    • hey Mate I had a similar issue.
If your cable tends to be just loose in the socket, it could just be that the socket has collected enough cotton from your pockets to keep it from connecting properly . A pin and a minute of removing that stuff worked for me :-)
Give it a go and you may save the hassle of visiting the apple store.

    • Yup go to Apple directly, they're pretty good.

Costco wont repair or replace. Just refund. That may or
    Not be what you want.

  • Go to apple. 2 years coverage under Australian consumer law. They will fix for free as long as issue not related to liquid damage or third party repairs.

Or it could be fluff in your dock 😝

  • I bet you anything that the charge port is in fact full of pocket lint

    • Certainly worth checking out.
