Which Earbuds/Headphones to Buy

Hello Ozb community

I have been struggling to find a best fit for my needs of earbuds/headphones.

My requirements are:

  1. They should work fine with MS teams/ zooms as i l do lot of remote work and want the call quality for me and listener to be clear, it should get rid of all the background noises (train, wind, kids in background, chatter etc)

  2. I can adjust with any of earbuds/ over ear headphones

I have seen mixed comments on ozb platform regarding every product and same has been in numerous YouTube videos I've watched

So please suggest what you guys use and ur experience

I primarily need it only for calls that removes background noise (not for music etc)

  • AirPods Pro - use it all day every day on MS Teams with work's Dell Precision 5550.

    • Thanks for replying mate, I forgot to put in the post that I am on android. Airpods pro might not be suitable for me
(Unless someone confirm they work fine on Android as well and on laptops too)

      • +1

They still work well on Android but fair play if you want something more in tune with that platform.

You might prefer something like: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/plantronics-voyager-v5200…

A few others at work use those single ear ones and also work very well.

      • Beats Fit Pro are pretty close to AirPods Pro but work with Android

        • AirPods still work and pair fine with Android, they're just Bluetooth earbuds after all, but you can't adjust any touch settings or gestures on them so they you're stuck with the default setup.

          • @CrispyChrispy: … but, many Android users are haters and wouldn't be caught dead with an Apple product. The Beats-branded buds will play somewhat nicer with OP's phone/laptop setup.

True, they're probably the best option for OP

I'm an Android user and have been using a pair of AirPods 2nd Gen for the past 3 and a half years. They work well as a pair of earbuds when I still want to hear my surroundings, otherwise I use my ANC earbuds.

              • @CrispyChrispy: You're clearly a whoily pragmatic user. I too use non-Pro AirPods: in my car for telephony and if I need to listen to something before falling asleep in bed.

Do you mean you don't want to hear any background noise or you want the mic to block out background noise? Or both?

If you want something that is discreet, a pair of wired earbuds like the AKG branded ones that come with a Samsung phone are fine for Teams or Zoom. Did your phone come with a pair of earbuds and mic?

If you really want the sound quality for you and your listener to be clear 100% of the time, something that has both ANC and a noise-cancelling mic like the Poly Voyager Focus 2 would be a good option, but since it's a headset with a boom mic it won't be discreet if you're walking around with it on, but I think it would give the person on the other end of the line the best experience (which IMO is something more people should be taking into consideration when they're in a Teams meeting).

For what you're saying I think you should buy the Poly headset, don't know about other people but it's not pleasant when you're on a call with someone and their kids are screaming in the background or they're walking outside and there's wind noise because of the wind blowing on their mic especially when it ends up wasting time just because you can't hear the other person properly.
