Bissell SpotClean Turbo Auto-Mate $289 (Was $429) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Supercheap Auto

230

Pretty good price for this model, I have a similar one and it performs well for cleaning all kinds of carpet.

Keep in mind these get really loud, and I don’t think this is the newest version with longer hose.

Yeah, I was expecting a deal on a new Daft Punk album

  • As said great, but very loud. Need ear protection while using

  • This sucks

    • It also blows

Over priced with useless suction power 🪠

Dont believe me? Try it in store before you buy and you'll never buy this rip off vac.

    Much better alternative..

    1.Buy desired nozzle size (190mm @ $28.59)

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/225064128796?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

    Or smaller version 93mm @ $21.80

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/295532692339?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

    Or both

    2.Spray bottle $5-10

    3.Cheap and cheerful vet/dry Shop vac $59

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1250w-12l-stainless-wet-an…

    1250w vs 750w Bissell

Or spend more to get a 1500w model around $150-200.

Enjoy and youll only pay $80-100 vs $289 rip off.

Cons, shop vac is loud.. yes!! But how often do you need to use a vet vac and youll actually have a product that works not the pathetic Bissell.

And before you ask, yes i tried the bissell and it was returned same day. You are paying for a small all-in-one unit with little to no performance.

You must've been using it wrong. I've used the smaller one on multiple vehicles and other things and it was flawless.

      • I purchased mine from Amazon, tested it out and it was crap. Tried it out on the pouf and it took a ridiculous amount of passes to get the liquid out. Had to press down super hard and it was still extracting because of the poor suction.

To make sure it wasnt just mine, i went to JB and powered on the model they had on display. Same disappointment.

Then i remembered i had a Aldi shop vac.. tried it out just to compare power and it was MILES ahead in terms of suction.

Got the linked nozzles and used it recently to clean up a big vom patch on the carpet (yay for gastro and kids 🙈). Performed like a champ and it didn't take that long given the wide nozzle head with great suction.

I spray on cleaner, agitate with a brush or hand and extract. You get a deeper clean this way instead of spay and suck in the same pass.

    • Using a nozzle with the shop vac… Don't you need to tether yourself to both power and a water hose?
I recently bought and used the Bissell. The spray head makes all the difference, even between Bissell heads.
Felt suction was fine, more than adequate imo.

Nope, I spray on cleaner, agitate with a brush or hand and extract. Many detailing places do this as well if they dont use an industrial vac.

Try and compare the suction of the bissell vs a regular vac. Its chalk and cheese. If you're wanting a single pass with spray and vac then yes, it will be ok for that. But the performance and time spent cleaning makes it feel like a toy.

    • I've also gone for this route instead of the bissel. Bonus is you can use it as a traditional dry vacuum, use to pick up 5L of water or plug the hose into the blower port to push air.

Can I ask what sort of cleaning solution you use in the spray bottle?

      • Good to see you have seen the light 😜

You are spot on, it becomes a multi purpose tool instead of a over priced gimmick.

I use Britex because Woolies had heaps of thr cleaner in clearance and i purchased like 8 bottles for like $4 each. Bunnings sells the same but you're looking at $18 a pop.

        https://www.bunnings.com.au/britex-concentrated-carpet-clean…

I have also experimented with dish soap and have found good results too. Jist dont use too much and try a small patch 1st to see how well your carpet reacts before committing to a full clean.

Just a note, if you have a cordless Bissell Multisurface Wet/Dry Vacuum (not this one), there's a recall on at the moment (I'm going through the process now):

  • I'll need to do a full review of the Bissell Turbo.
Overall it's great. A lot of good design elements.
    And some odd little things.
