[SOLVED] Samsung Not Honoring Samsung Care+ Lite despite Clearly Advertising It

Recently bought one the Samsung phones, galaxy A34 5g.

Samsung clearly advertised it to be coming with the phone, yet not honored.
Proof
And denying to honor it in email communications.
Similarly, I have heard other people have had poor relations in past with Samsung store directly too.

So, what steps should I take ??
What have people done in past to get around dodgy shoddy Samsung practices against Consumer Law.

CC chargeback ? Consumer business services etc ?

Thanks

Where do i do the enrollment ??

It was supposed to be added FOR FREE (assume WITHOUT ANY ENROLMENT FEE) AT THE CART, as per their advertisement.

Why should I be having to pay enrollment fee ? when it is supposed to be free "SC+ Lite valued at $49 will be automatically added to the cart with the Galaxy A34. Offer ends 30 June 23"

Also where did you see these terms and condition ??

because I do not see any terms and condition regarding SC+ Care lite on the phone page

          Thanks

          Went https://rg2.samsungcareplus.com/au#/check

Put IMEI and comes saying "Registration failed. IMEI number is invalid. Please try again."

          Surprisingly
          Went to
          https://rg2.samsungcareplus.com/au#/product

and put the IMEI, and DOES INFACT SHOW "Bonus Samsung Care+ Lite (1YR) 1 Mobile Refresh in 12 Months"

I guess SAMSUNG support is useless in telling how to claim the SC+ Care Lite.

          Thanks mate

          • @USER DC: excellent!

            • @djones145: Yup nice to have it for free, although will have to shove $45 at time of claim, still $45 for all stuff below within 1 year doesn't sound bad given how much people charge for like battery replacement alone. Although I baby the devices generally.

•Diagnostic test - we ensure your device is operating at optimal speed, this also includes a full factory reset and operating system reload.

•Screen refresh - replacement of the LCD screen using genuine OEM parts that won’t void your warranty if necessary5 or a buff and polish to remove scuffing on screen device and help to restore surface shine.

•Battery replacement - battery replacement to ensure your device is powering at full capacity.

•Detailed device clean - deep cleanse of the exterior body and all ports, getting in to all those hard-to-reach places ‘

  • What does "not honouring" mean? Are they denying you have it included? Denying it exists for the model? Does it show up in your order confirmation so you can use it as proof? Were there other steps or registration you need to do to "activate" it?

Have you spoken to someone else at customer service? Maybe pop into a store if one is local?

      What does "not honouring" mean?

That they are not issuing me it, as per advertisement, making stupid excuses like can only have 1 promotion applied (Clearly right now we see two promotions on their website)

Are they denying you have it included?

      Yes denying it

Denying it exists for the model?

      Not really

Does it show up in your order confirmation so you can use it as proof?

No, it did not that's why I contacted them about it, after I got the order confirmation, Called them same day, who said they would report to a manager, said I would get email reply - I DID NOT. SEEMS LIKE that person did Bull$h!t nothing.
Next day contact them on chat, about the same issue, and saying I got no email, they told me to email them @ [email protected] about it, so i did. They been delaying it ever since, saying they reported issue to higher team blah blah. But today denying it.

Were there other steps or registration you need to do to "activate" it?

No steps, I contacted Samsung as a normal consumer would that it was not showing on the order. Chat did also say that SC+ Care is included on purchase. BUT CLEARLY NOT ADDED TO PURCHASE

Have you spoken to someone else at customer service?

Multiple emails, and phone call no genuine attempt to honor it

Maybe pop into a store if one is local?

I dont think Samsung has physical store

Hmm seems like you've followed everything then. Still shows as included if I add one to basket right now so that's very odd. You may want to try the hassle of returning it and ordering another one to see if it's a system glitch or something.

They do have stores in Sydney on George St and in Parramatta but no idea if they can help or just tell you it's an online order so you have to speak to CS.

WOW What a storm in a teacup this thread was!

i wanted to know why he was so angry

      • -2

IKR…. Went from Zero to thermonuclear for all over $49! When they just failed to read the T&Cs and already had it

        • -3

T&Cs no where on the phone purchasing website (it was on separate Webpage talking about Samsung Care+).

And even if I failed to read that,
you really think their customer service should know such a thing ? NOT JUST a single person but multiple ones.
Plus they told me wrong info.

          • @USER DC: Why so angry!? Your screenshot clearly says T&C apply. Took 10 seconds on google to find them.

@JimmyF: Im sure you'll be super happy when companies try to clearly take advantage of customers by breaching Australian Consumer Law ??

BTW Samsung is still denying that I am eligible, so who knows what the actual terms and conditions she is referring to, and if there are any IT SHOULD BE DIRECTLY ATTACHED TO THE WEBPAGE WHERE YOU ARE ORDERING FROM (such that one doesn't need to google/ozbargain it)

              https://imgur.com/1CzHwNJ

You can see at bottom the screen shot he/she attached, (with providing me no links to where he/she got terms and condition from.

              Original website I ordered from
              https://www.samsung.com/au/multistore/samsung_education_au/b…
              https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/galaxy-a/galaxy-a34-5…

The only terms and condition visible to me at that page https://imgur.com/a/Igge2km
Anyway you want to support such dodgy acts or say that Samsung is doing okay like how it is acting That's a you choice.

              Good night anyway

No one tried to take advantage of you.

What act? You got what was offered AUTOMATICALLY and yet you're still not happy.

                Good night anyway

Thanks, yes I am having a good night. Are you?

  • Is Samsung Care+ worth buying?

    • For me it was free, I mainly considered it for free battery replacement which can be quite costly after market. whereas SC care was only $50 for me (when claiming)

other than that it is useless i think, unless you got a habbit of dropping phone
