Help Needed: Transfer JPY from Citibank to HSBC

Hi there,

I have some JPY in my Citibank Citi Smart Wallet which I would like to move over to my new HSBC Global Account. I understand the HSBC Global Account only has one set of BSB and Account# for the different currencies. The issue I am facing is when I add the HSBC Global Account to Citi and choose Australia as the country, I am unable to see the option to transfer the JPY. It only show all my AUD accounts.

I tried the HSBC chat but they are useless.. anyone has any experience or can provide some guidance would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Cheers,
KT

  • Similar issue - has to be done from from Citibank Onlnie Banking and not the app. Then you can send JPY to an Australian account. HSBC will charge a $10 AUD fee to receive.

  • Although you want to transfer JPY from within Australia to another account within Australia, the actual JPY has to go from Citibank's JPY correspondent bank in Japan to HSBC's correspondent bank in Japan.

  • +1

Cool, thanks. Finally got it to work. HSBC support is useless …

  • Didn't consider using Wise ? (Ex transferwise) I find them having a better rate than the banks, including the fees.
