Win 1 of 500,000 Travel Voucher Worth NT$5,000 (~A$240) from Taiwan Tourism Bureau

Visitors going to Taiwan from now until 30 June 2025 for stays of 3 to 90 days are invited to register their interest in participating in the government's new tourism promotion.

500,000 travel vouchers of NTD5,000 (AU$240) each will be given to random foreign tourists over the next 25 months.

A 'lucky draw' is run at the airport when you arrive so not everyone will win but the odds are probably between a 1-in-5 and a 1-in-50 chance if they got record tourist numbers.

The vouchers can be taken as either Easycards (transport, convenience stores) or accommodation vouchers (participating hotels only).

It's a bit gimmicky but not out of character for Taiwan, e.g. like their receipt lottery.

It's a beautiful and cheap holiday destination but I'm told it's best to avoid travelling in Taiwan in the hot and humid season, which is over the next few months.
