Tiled Roof Mount for Weather Station

I'm looking to mount my weather station on my roof, and I'm trying to find a suitable bracket that I don't have to drill through my tiles.

Similar to the one in the link below where it just sits under the tiles.

The below site doesn't ship to AU though.

Has anyone seen anything similar that ships to AU?

(As above, I don't want to drill into the tiles. I also don't want one attached to the gutter, as I would like it near the top of the roof)

You'll want to make sure it's way higher than your roof level mounting it to your roof like that, you'll get radiated heat from the roof tiles that'll mess with your readings and the wind speed/direction will be affected by the angle of your roof.

Here's a few sites that have useful info: https://www.instrumentchoice.com.au/where-to-mount-your-weat…

After I read all this, I still mounted mine off the top of the antenna pole on the side of my house because I was too lazy to do it properly anyway and my readings are fairly OK though. Might be easier to mount it to the side of the house using a fascia mount - then you don't mess with any of your tiles…

Yep, I have a pole long enough so its above the top of roof. That's why I didn't want it attached at the gutter, as the pole will need to be really long.

I think those need to drill through the tiles to mount

  • hot glue

  • Buy a steel plate / flat bar, screw your station to it and then slide the plate under a tile. You might need to attach a few right angle brackets to mount your station (or even a post anchor eg https://www.bunnings.com.au/pryda-200mm-post-anchor-half-sti…). Basically make your own mount, its not very hard - might not look as nice as the one you linked but its on the roof so who can see it

  • Mounted mine on a wooden post in the middle of the garden away from any structures or wind diversions
Its 3+ meters above the ground. Go to the live stock supplier for the log post if bunnings doesn't sell it.
Just be aware that some are for the northern hemisphere and you will have to recalibrate it for Australia.
