  • I'll pass on the GMO flakes, but hey nice price.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is not all corn genetically modified? Given it started centuries ago as a grass…

That's not to defend them… but realistically if you're eating any sorts of cereals you're not doing yourself a service.

      • if you're eating any sorts of cereals you're not doing yourself a service

        Wha?

        • I should have clarified as breakfast cereals, in that pretty well all of them are heavily processed grains. The milk consumption isn't fantastic either.

        • What do you suggest people eat then?

      • Genetically modified hundreds of years ago?
        Eating cereals is bad?

Not all cereals are bad for you infact (although this is an assumption) I would bet that most cereals do far more good than bad.

Corn has been around for thousands of year's and while the specific strain that is commonly used now a hybrid of strains, you would be hard pressed to find fruits or vegetables (manufactured or grown in commercial quantitys) that hasn't had some breeding or tweaking either so that they grow faster, last longer or are better tasting.

By the way anything genetically modified was science fiction before ~1950.

  • I like independents
