Cable TV

Hi guys,
I'm hoping you guys can help me out. We just moved to Melbourne and was hoping to have cable TV installed into our apartment. Went to Optus to get the Broadband/Foxtel bundle, but when they checked our address, they said our bulding is not wired for cable. Called the body corporate and they confirmed this… they said the owners have other upgrades which they are prioritising before cable wiring.
So, am I screwed? I heard something about Foxtel having a satellite service, but this would be really expensive, right?

Appreciate any help you guys can provide…

Cheers,
Erwin

  • I believe the packages/prices are the same with satellite but you would need to get a satellite installed which is something you will have to get the body corporate involved in.

  • Found this: http://www.foxtel.com.au/176.htm
    and this: http://www.foxtel.com.au/overview.htm?pageId=6

We have a dish and it didn't cost us anything to have it installed. We just had to get permission from the landlord (we rent) - that was no problem at all.
