  • just wondering, I have a 4070ti that I have on order for $1099 from Amazon.com.au (I tried posting the link but Ozbargain wouldn't allow Amazon Asia links) but it may not arrive for at least another month, would you wait a month for the 4070ti or just get a 4070 and save $200? Play fortnite, Forza, COD MW. This 4070ti would qualify for the free Diablo bundle.

I'd stick with the 4070Ti for longevity.

From what I understand the difference is about 20-30% across resolutions on average. It's entirely subjective, I imagine the ti card you've ordered has Diablo 4 as well. Taking those out of the equation and thinking about the wait time, is that worth $200 to you?

    • +3

There's a chance you would get a rtx 4070 a month later with that order as it's showing a 4070 on the box. IMO not worth the waiting given it's a Ventus

FWIW - The promotion period for D-IV started on the 9th of May. Looks like your order was on the 8th.

    • @danielt25 just curious, will you be paying import duties on that $1099 GPU?

      • Why would they? It’s off Amazon AU

        • If I read him correctly - he says it's from Amazon Asia, so it's a card from overseas?

          • @Pusheencat: Nah I think amzn.asia links are just what you get when you "share" an item on the amazon app

    • If you're on 1440p or above, stay with the 4070ti. At 1080p, you probably won't notice the difference between the two so much, so saving $200 would be better.

At 1080p, it's 15% more performance for 22% more money, 169 vs 200 avg fps.

At 1440p, it's 18% more performance for 22% more money, 127 vs 154 avg fps.

      *data via TPU.

  • yes i don't know what's going to show up for that price (4070 or 4070ti), I just jumped on it as it looked like a good price at the time, given the box is a 4070 and the 4070ti is in the description, but the Amazon link definitely points to a 4070ti when clicked:

    • Very conflicting, but in the "order technical details" section it says 4070. So i wouldnt get my hopes up waiting for a 4070ti. Best of luck though!

  • Could you look at it as a 80 to 90 dollar price drop if you sell the game?
Not too bad if that's possible.

    • $60-70 would be more realistic unless you have a ready buyer I reckon. You can pre-order the game for $69 on Mighty Ape.

Edit: Also, apparently you might need a 40 series GPU to actually unlock the game.

I would say it's better to purchase this MSI 4070 VENTUS 2X for $916.32 delivered with the SAVB8 coupon. That one will come with Diablo IV promotion which you might be able to offload for A$70 (taking total down to $846.32), and MSI are better for warranty than PNY.

You could potentially get the total price down to $809.67 if the effort is worth your time:
    SAVB8 coupon: $916.32 ($79.68 discount)
    4% giftcard: $879.67 ($36.6528 discount)
Sell Diablo IV: $809.67 ($70 discount)

It might be optimistic to sell the Diablo IV key for $70 though - anyone know what the market value of keys are?

    • +1

nice one! - how do you get the 4% giftcard?

      • +1

Don't think you will get near 70 for the key. You need a 40 series card to redeem so your audience is very limited.

        • So they don't give you a key but somehow tie the game to your battlenet account? Or somehow make the game only playable if you have a 40 series GPU?

          • +1

@dudleydoright: If past redemptions are any clue, you need to run a verifier tool on a PC with the card installed. You then sign in to BattleNet through NV and authorise Nvidia to redeem a code to your account.

Best I recall you don't see the code.

      • See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards for more details - there's a few vendors that offer them.

  • Just went OOS.

  • There was a 6900XT deal for $928 just the other day. I'd be on the look out for more deals like that.

  • Wonder if the 4060 Ti 16GB is worth waiting for…July or something

  • I would get the dual but heard they run hotter and louder, which is why I've been hanging out for a triple fan one, and most of the time triple fans ones have a higher stock clock?

  • Shipping update, the 4070ti looks to be arriving on Friday, but the price doesn't look all that good any more if Amazon was selling the 4070 for $650!!.

    • Let us know if it’s Ti! And yours would have the Diablo bundle unlike the Amazon uk bought cards.

  • +1

I bought this outside of the Diablo offer period.

  • +1

I have no idea what's up with Amazon pricing but I cancelled the 4070ti and reordered it for $1013. This qualifies for the Diablo offer! (I'll be cancelling this one if I can pick up a 4070 for $650)
