Mens Undies Recommendations - Better Quality

Long story short a hotel threw out some socks and undies of mine.

They have promised to reimburse me so I can splash out a little..

Does anyone have a pair they swear by?

    • Mack Weldon are great. Really wish we could get them here.

    under armour cant beat it

Pretty happy with "Step Ones" this way.

    • They are good but make me sweat like you wouldnt believe

    • Step Ones are pretty expensive and low quality. This coming from someone who has many pairs.

I've bought 3 "rounds" of step ones, the original ones that my wife got me years ago are the best still. Very soft feeling and comfy. Second lot I got were OK, and the latest lot I got are like wearing spandex around my legs and they're hot af so I feel like I sweat more and not as comfy.

        • +1

They used to be good, now they have gone down in quality :(

          • +1

@Hawks33: Yeah seems like they've progressively gotten worse.

    • +1

I've got 3 pairs of step ones and they really haven't done much for me. Granted, they are better than cotton, but they're just cheap viscose and elastane. Definitely not worth the price imo.

It might be worth taking advantage of their 1 pair guarantee though. Even if you end up liking them, just say you don't like the design/fit was off and you'll get a refund or a free new pair.

    Kmart Anko/Alpha trunks.

    • +1

I have some ankos that I bought on holiday a few years ago and they're still going strong. Lasting longer than my Calvin Klein's too.

    • I prefer these to step ones

  • Underdak Heros

  • +1

Lululemon men’s trunks; they don’t ride up and are very comfortable and are lasting a long time. I bought my last pair 6 years ago and the whole set are still going strong.

    • Worth the price tag too! Love my Lululemon trucks. Better than Bonds and Step One

  • Bonds half price at Coles this week.

  • I love swagboxers, but not the ones target sell. You can get them with a longer leg on their website and at tkmaxx. They don't roll up as much and no wedgies!

As a more blessed gentleman, I love the Sepratec trunks. They have a separate pouch for your Johnson and another little pouch for your berries. It’s a bit odd at first but not having your junk pressed and squished is amazing. The material is nice in either a bamboo or cotton

  • Since you’re not going to be paying for them, I’d recommend the manscaped underwear. They’re very soft, extremely comfortable (so my husband says) and really nice quality.

  • I find Boody quite comfortable.

  • +2

Under armour are my pick. Very comfy and last a long time

    • +1

      seconded.

  • The hotel went through your bags?

  • Debriefs are best.

  • +3

I'm loving Uniqlo Airism boxer briefs. Very comfortable and great for my physically active job.

  • +1

I've changed to Jockey. There are ones with about 3cm elastic that does not degrade, and the briefs are good too. I buy online from their shop. You can also say "I'm wearing jocks!"

  • Paire socks are super comfy, https://www.paire.com.au,
as for jocks, go commando, let the boys be free!

  • +1

    Under armour

  • +2

Depends on your fit but Uniqlo Airism trunks are pretty comfy.

  • +2

    Uniqlo Airism seamless boxer briefs

But beware you may need to go one size up to fit the thigh.

  • I'd like to be in the same situation as yours, how did you manage the hotel to do that?

  • What really happen, house keeping.

  • Uniqlo Airism for me as well, switched from bonds. Also like CK but prefer Uniqlo in warmer weather

  • B3neth and Duluth Trading.

  • +1

Have been using Boody for the past few years and def recommend.

  • CK briefs, don't need anything else.

  • +1

Aussie Bum, great life and value in the regular half price sales.
Bit of pilling on my older ones now but they are about ready for the rag bag.

    • +1 for some of the Aussiebum selection

  • Paul Smith - Organic Cotton
    Icebreaker - Cool-Lite Merino
    Nike - Dri-Fit Reluxe

  • +2

I only wear under armour briefs. Nothing else.

  • +1

Definitely Uniqlo's Airism. super comfortable and felt like almost wearing no underwear at times

    • I thought this until I experienced Lululemons range and I never looked back

  • -3

Kmart bamboo trunks, thank me later.

  • Lululemon and it's not even close

  • -3

    Step Ones

  • I’m a big fan of the Uniqlo boxers.

  • If my balls aren't being supported by Gucci, then it ain't worth it.

I just bought 7 of these Calvin Klein modal underwear (still on sale). The material is one of the softest I've ever felt, and it's anti chafe. It's actually more anti-chafe than step one, which just use a cheaper form of rayon (viscose). Adding onto that, your partner/date will definitely be more impressed by quality Calvin Kleins than some tradie or alpha boxers.

  • I bought 4 pairs of these in 2019. They have been in constant rotation since. Every week. Never tumble dry and they are still solid. Just starting to show some wear. Very comfortable and dont ride up. I tried some step ones recently, dont rate them over these.

    Zonbailon

Not affiliated link or anything like that. Just good trunks.

Under Armour are amazing, moved to these from Bonds. They're absolutely amazing, great comfort, good feel.

    I like Victoria's secret.

Usually crotchless, otherwise I will have to stick my junk out to the left or the right.

  • Try Saxx - I bought one pair, loved them, and instantly bought a dozen more.

Their 'ball hammock' design is the game changer, and will spoil wearing normal undies for you. I'm not affiliated, just a big fan

  • Any regular G-Banger is usually the go.

  • Bamboo for AliExpress

  • Moved through Step-Ones, CK's, Lululemons,, Anko, Haines and the only ones that last, no right and good for sweat have ben the bond's x-temp trunks

  • Whatever costco sells. They seem to last longer and easy pickings while shopping.

  • +1

I have had a subscription to knobbys love their designs and feel.
    https://knobby.com.au/
found the ck not comfortable for the front part, imho a little small.
Wool is great until it gets wet.

      • Wow… subscription undies. And it's $25! a month.

But ignoring the cost (which seems a lot for me), what is the benefit of getting a new set every month?

        • +1

Won't you want a new pair after wearing one for a month?

        • I got the subscription as a gift, I don't have it as recurring.

Once I had a good stash of Knobby's I threw out all the rest. I found the waistband was shit in other brands and the thigh seam would would always ride up my leg. Haven't had either problem so far with the Knobby's.

You could just buy one pair and see if you like them.

  • Had issue with Bonds quality recently, specifcally the waist band. I've swapped to Uniqlo now.

  • These have been so good https://www.kmart.com.au/product/3-pack-cooling-trunks-s1532… . I previously used stepone and agree with others, they are not worth the money.

  • +1

I wait for the EOFY clearance sales at DJ/Myer and pickup a few quality odd trunks. I got a some Mitch Dowd, Kenji, Armani, Tommy, and Under Armor last few times and they seem to be good quality and they were heavly discounted. It's best to try within the first few days of the sale to get the sizes you want, though they do go cheaper as the sales near the end.

I prefer a material blend for QLD heat as they don't seem as uncomfortable in the humidity as pure cotton, I also find they don't go out of shape even in a cold wash.

Each to their own though so goodluck!

  • I like bamboo ones

    Step one etc

  • I have tried many different brands and have found Lululemon men's trunks by far the best. Not the cheapest but worth the price tag in my opinion and very comfy.

  • Uniqlo

  • Exofficio.

Hands down the best undies I've found…

  • Kmart undies, the antibacterial ones. Made from some stretchy material, had mine for 6 years and legit has no holes or pulling.

  • Tried everything under the sun over the years (Oroton, Bonds, CK and tons of other brands). The only one that is amazing to wear and super durable is Jockey International edition. Not easy to find.

  • Lacoste trunks.

  • My favourites are the Kmart bamboo trunks, around $7 a pair and very comfy, but I would probably get the Step One if someone else was paying.

  • i swear by uniqlo

but if you want a lux option, sunspel

  • UFM - Underwear For Men.
    https://www.ufmunderwear.com/

  • Everyone raves about Step Ones but they did not fit me at all. They're only for larger folk. Just to save you wasting your time
