Is There Any Value in OnePass?

I took a "free" trial of Onepass yesterday when they had something at Catch I thought was value. However, when shipping & delivery was applied the purchase became pointless.

Back to the question, if they're charging for delivery what is the point of Onepass?

Haven't used it but the website suggests delivery is included in $4/month: https://onepass.com.au/benefits

You may have been looking at an item sold by a third party seller?

    • Not sure if it was third party or not. Just tested a couple of other items including the Odyssey BBQ deal posted here yesterday. All came up with delivery charges.

Guess I'll ditch the Onepass idea when it expires in 29 days.

        This one? https://www.catch.com.au/product/gasmate-odyssey-2t-2-burner…

Please note: This offer is not eligible for OnePass discounts or delivery caps. The product will be charged & posted individually. See OnePass FAQ.

That does seem a bit pointless then.

They'd never include bulky items delivery for onepass. makes no financial sense to them. Maybe if they added a special delivery price add on for bulky items, like they do for express postage ($2 more) it would probably work.

*Excludes bulky, special order and marketplace items

Value in signing up for a month to buy what you want and cancel!

    • Basically that's what I've done. On the downside (for me) the Onepass mob now has my personal details and I have sweet F.A. in return.

OnePass delivered me for free a $4 cat accessory from Kmart. Feels like Amazon to me, except shipping takes a week instead of overnight. OnePass needs to make their own streaming service imo, full of Australian content. All the physical stores of Australia should band together to make their own competing service to Amazon, and work out how to get warehousing and delivery times down. But that would mean a lot of cooperation with their direct competition which Australian businesses famously hate.

I wouldn't pay for OnePass at the moment though, I don't shop at Kmart or Catch very often.

    • I must be doing something wrong on catch + onepass because whatever I stick in the cart attracts a delivery fee :-(

      • Just like with Amazon Prime not every item has free delivery with OnePass.

      • Kmart is free delivery anything they sell, catch is the same if catch the seller. Target is same free but for their clearance, shipping is free if purchase >$69, Bunnings is free provided Bunnings is the seller for order above $80?

        • Bunnings limits on bulky items as well.

        • I probably would order more from Bunnings and maybe Target. Can OnePass be shared between people living in different addresses? Like can I get it and share it with my mom, I think that might justify the value. I absolutely hate going to a shop just for one thing and will usually just pay extra on Amazon then go to Bunnings.

          • @AustriaBargain: Hi if not mistaken I read somewhere that you should be able to use the account for 3-4 addresses.

          • @AustriaBargain: pretty sure you re-enter the delivery address you want, so yes that should be fine. Not sure about name on delivery though.

@sagrules: I could just tell my mom to use my name on her orders. And just hope neither of us order any dildos and put the wrong address in.

      • You need to filter by free delivery when you search for stuff on catch.

Have you linked your One pass account to your Catch account? You need to link it to all the different retailers, also if you link your bunnings one they will send you a $10 voucher and 3 free key cuts and 3 free hot beverages.

    • oh i didn't know about the bunnings offer, thanks.

    • do they send the bunnings vouchers via email or post?

        Post

  • On a related note, is there any benefit to scanning your OnePass digital card when you shop in-store at Kmart or Target, other than these mobs collecting more data about you?

  • It's ok. As others have mentioned, not necessarily free delivery on marketplace seller items.

My partner is a teacher and is always scouring Kmart and target etc for specials and clearance items. The win here is if she finds something in a Kmart in another state, they post it for free.

Don't forget 10% discount from student beans also.
    It's ok. Not brilliant.
