  • How does it go against the 4090?

It doesn't, it goes against the 4080.

Bought the Phantom Gaming edition for $1549 a month ago from CentreCom as well, Diablo IV 120FPS average on 4K

But diablo IV is a old game

Please reconsider what you are saying.

    • Was this with the ultra textures?

I ordered one since my 6800xt was running out of VRAM on Ultra!

      • What?? 16gb wasn't enough??

      • You can play it on a 1060 just fine, what I'm saying is that games like to allocate as much VRAM as possible if allowed. That doesn't mean it's actually using that much VRAM, this game certainly doesn't use all 16gb of VRAM.

        • Well it does… I was testing exactly this over the weekend on my machine 6800 xt. At 4k both on medium & ultra textures D4 would eventually chew thru all the VRAM and sit at 15+GB usage monitored while gaming.

At Ultra this resulted in stuttering but with medium it was smooth (still high VRAM usage)

Clearly there is a desire to eat more…

Edit: Sorry I misunderstood your comment vs allocated VRAM vs used VRAM - fair point.

My 7900 xtx should arrive this week I will come back and update this post once I can get back into D4 on release :)

  • 350 more to go.

This one, or $50 more for the Sapphire Nitro+ from here?

    • I'll be honest, the Taichi is honestly just as good as the Nitro+. The Taichi has very little coil whine too. I would save the $50 for something else, but if you want the Nitro+ go for it. Nitro+ is a crowd favourite for a reason.
