I bought two pair of these smaller-size tongs recently from Amazon Warehouse and they are really good.

These were going half price this morning ($1.75) but now at $2.10 - 40 percent off RRP. Myer also has them also on special for $2.10 each - https://www.myer.com.au/p/grabbers-mini-tongs-18cm-silicone-….

Item dimensions L x W x H - 20 x 29.5 x 34.5 centimetres, "made from high quality stainless steel and silicone, heat resistant up to 240 degree Celsius and dishwasher-safe".

At Amazon, plain stainless steel tongs were also discounted this morning by 50 percent, at $1.48 each, but now that offer has expired - https://www.amazon.com.au/Maxwell-Williams-Grabbers-Stainles… (Myer on special at $1.77 each)

no worries, I just bought another pair for the same reason :)

If only the rivet was also made of stainless steel, then these would be perfect.

    • I bought these to replace one with a failed rivet recently but didn’t think too hard about materials. Do better options exist? Are they advertised as having stainless steel rivets? Would love a recommendation for when these fail!

Would love a recommendation for when these fail!

I usually replace the rivet with a nail in case of rivet failure. Just make sure to trim of the pointy end with a plier. I have rescued 3 tongs in my house.

        • What do you do with the non-head end to do it falling out? Bang it flat? Or something neater?

          • @kiitos: Twist it at a right angle using needle nose pliers. Will upload a photo later

      • OXO tongs use stainless rivets (or not aluminium at least).. I've got 3 pairs now and they're all still going strong, slowly throwing out the crappy aluminium rivet ones….

How did you manage to find this deal. Always wondered this

    Price went up upon checkout

The blue one should still be 1.75

Nice, I have similar, not the same brand, and the rivet that joins the two arms has worn out at one end, as often seems the case with cheaper tongs.

No longer $1.75 (expired) but is now $2.10 so if you don't care about the $0.35 increase, you can still get it.

      Meh still cheap
