IKEA Glass Doors from $5-10 Atleast 85% off Avskit, Rubrik (Tempe in NSW)

90

Lots of discontinued cabinet doors came in, and we're selling them in the Bargain Corner/AS-IS Section for $5(small-medium) or 10$ for the larger doors. Usual price was $40-$85. They're usually for kitchen cabinets. About 300 different sizes and shapes came in tonight.

Location is Tempe, Sydney. Not sure if other Ikea's are selling them for the same price.

mod - added state to title; I'm from outside NSW and seeing TEMPE in capitals, I thought it was a brand

Is the "No Return or Exchange" sign legal in Australia ?

    http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1026241?pa…

    • yep.

For sale and clearance items (or even normal sale items), it is legal to have no returns/exchange for CHANGE OF MIND.

If there is a QUALITY ISSUE, or any other reason that falls under CONSUMER RIGHTS, they must refund or exchange.

EDIT: Generally, when they state 'No Returns/Exchanges', stores legally have to add 'for Change of Mind'.

If it's simply, 'No Returns/Exchanges, it implies consumer rights do not apply, which is when it becomes illegal.

Your picky posts are mostly a joy to read :P

      • Given that retaillers never have to offer returns or exchanges for change of mind then when you see a "No Returns/Exchanges" sign, you would assume it is covering situations outside of this, which is illegal.

    • Probably not legal, although most would get away with it.

Those unlucky enough - this is what happens:

Nice, but who is "we"? An Ikea shop? All of them? East coast? A liquidation shop?

Oh yeah Sorry about that. Its in Tempe, NSW

How about some links to the actual products on the Ikea website/catalogue?

    Thanks OP.

I have some Ikea doors in my bathroom vanity that look like the ones pictured. Even though the bathroom cabinet doors are all labelled as being good for wettish environments, I find that they warp after a couple of years. I've returned them before with no issue, but prefer to just pick up new ones for $10 or so bucks each.

They accepted your return after a couple of years??

      • They have to, you can't reasonably expect to replace cabinet doors every two years, that would mean they are faulty…

        • +1

that figures - faulty and now discontinued.

FFS. Could peeps stop negging JV for every comment.

The first set was their mirrored doors and they were rusted and nasty. I exchanged them for new identical ones. I think. Then they got nasty and I bought some like those shown on clearance. Those have lasted and lllook okay, but I can tell the moisture is taking it's toll so if I can secure some new ones cheaply, I'm happy.

Can people lay off JV. FFS.

        • Fair enough

        • +3

I think JV reaps what he sows - and happily!

        • true, but how do u prove purchase date, likely you don't have a receipt by then or it'd be faded
I do get a lot of stuff that doesn't last it's supposed lifetime, like CFL bulbs.

      • +1

You wouldn't believe the things people have returned for full refund.

        • +1

you are basically renting it out to them rent-free!

        • How so? If a product doesn't do what it's supposed to do, the consumer is entitled to a replacement or whatever. Most people still have cc statements even if not the actual receipt.
