  • Ah yes, I forgot that Penfolds was now making wines in the USA.

    • they also do a champagne in France …..

      • +2

Champagne can only be from France

        • +4

          According to the French

        • -1

I mentioned France for those that that might think it's made in other places also aka sparkling wine.

          • @garage sale: I thought you had just written a tautology but you actually wanted to pretentiously make the point that only the French region has proprietary control of that nomenclature

    Quantum Bin

    Sounds tiny…

RRP does not matter. Discounts are arbitrary. Only look at the final price.

Do you think $600 is a bargain in any possible universe?
So you don't drink wine. What do you drink?
Lets say cola. You see a bottle of cola discounted from $99 to $49. Is that a bargain? Its a really good cola. :-)

I don't drink wine but I've got mates who do drink them and while I can't tell the difference between a cheapo wine and expensive wine, they can taste the difference and think its worth the extra price and $200 off seems like a good discount to me..

different people like to spend money different ways …. I don't understand how people pay $12 for a pint in a pub, when a slab of beer if you take it home is $50 ….

      • You should have said "$200 seems like a good discount for them" I. E those who claim they can spot a $600 price difference between a cheapo wine and an expensive one.

    • Hmm, it's a bargain if it's 50% off market price and you can resale for close to market price.

      • Do you really think that you can resale for close to market price?

        • I'm not saying in this occasion I can. But on previous grange deals I was able to sell them for $1k+ overseas. Paid for my holiday once taken into consideration markup, discount and WET

        • you need a liquor license to resell alcohol or you need to sell it to someone who has a liquor license ….. they will offer you auction prices less commission, so what you'd get at auction after overheads, their benefit is they don't pay the buyer commission ……

But it to drink not resell or you will loose money unless it's something very unique or you are in a lucky situation.

          • @garage sale: For drinking i am happy with the cheapest canadian club with LA cola. I am a simple man

2018 good year, but is still to expensive for me, Bin 389 any day.

    • 2018 Bin 389 is great but not much around anymore ….. cheapest I've seen was $80 at Dans for the 2018,

    • How about 2011 Bin 389? Any good?

    This lambo only 1.4 mill

    • Paul Walker's Skyline sold for about that much.

      • +1

        Bargain

  • +1

    Thanks bought a 6 pack

  • Why is this at this price Vs Grange it's almost a similar price.

Never heard of this before today.

Is this the Penfolds USA equivalent/version of Grange?

  • not a grange, not a deal

    • Agree - this wine has absolutely no pedigree and is a market segmentation gimmick. Buy a grange instead.
