On Amazon for $19.99 with free delivery.

    Reviews are so so

    RRP is BS

I bought one of these the last week or so.
My experience is it was slightly better than the microphone on my Logitech G Pro Wireless Headset.
However, it is a lot better than the built in Mic on the C9XX Logitech Web camera's.
It's an OK cheap option if you work from home and want to improve your voice quality for teams without looking like a gamer.

    • Does it help with background noise on Teams calls? My built in laptop mic apparently sends quite a bit of background noise out when I'm speaking (according to the other members on the call).

I would say yes, it would work OK for this.

      • External is always better - it would also mean you can drop it in a position where you are naturally speaking too on Teams calls, which has been the best part for me with an external mix. Mine is fixed just under the monitor that also has my webcam on it.

        • thanks - I'm looking to do something similar, can you recommend a mic and webcam combo that is good enough for teams meetings, separate or integrated mic and camera is fine

          • @freesteakknives: I have a Blue Yeti Snowball, which I got with vouchers so can't really talk about value for money. It's very awkwardly sized through, I've got it attached to my monitor stand with clamps, and velcro.

            I have this as a webcam: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08K95N5L7/ref=ppx_od_d…
It's not that much better than an intregrated laptop cam, but being able to put it where I want is useful (similar to comment about about microphone). I have it above where people's faces are in Teams, so it feels a bit more engaging looking at least in the direction of the camera.
But there is plenty of deals for webcams that come up on here, just search through them and work out which one comes down a price you like with reasonable comments.

      • If it’s the same one in the streaming kit It picks up background noise from the other rooms in my house

  • I hate you OP. I didnt need one but i bought one

  • NVIDIA Broadcast (free) has noise and room echo filters - the noise filter fixed my background noise problems (which were quite a prob as the lounge TV is not too far away). Results will differ according to hardware and positional variables, but it's free if you want to give it a go

    • Pretty cool, but needs NVIDIA gpu: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX or higher

      • +1

Yeah, I did realise this. I just tried an install on my oldest PC and the installer won't proceed unless it detects an NVIDIA video driver above 524. something. Pity they tied up both the camera and sound to a video requirement. Still a useful tool if not GPU bound. Thanks for the pickup, I shoulda tested before posting.
        D.
