Free Netflix? Do These Things Work and are they really legal?

Found this new device advertised. Seems dodgy AF

But it claims to provide free and legal Netflix. Anyone aware more about these things or can comment?

    1. They may work for a few weeks/months while the owners continue to flip the boxes, and are willing to pay the server hosting.
    2. No, not legal. The box will likely be setup to use stolen netflix accounts (or netflix accounts created using stolen credit cards), and probably will provide access to media via servers hosting pirated content.
    • It's a fairly common model for accessing foreign language content that would otherwise not be accessible or commercially available. My folks used to have one to watch local news and programming from their home town, but it's a roll of the dice when it would eventually fail…

I think they were happy if they got a couple of years out of it each time, but costwise it worked out to about the same as a sub to a streaming service.

Obviously a bullshit site with a fake tech news article promoting a 'chromecast' that supposedly provides access to all the streaming sites. Even the top of the page says it's an advertisement.

The scam is over so the links don't even work anymore.

There's better ways to stream for free, like paying money to access a repository that has everything from all services.

That will do it every time :)

    • I think you're confusing free and paid.

Bruh this is very much a scam. Would avoid at all cost.

You'd be better off getting a VPN and becoming a pirate at that point.

At least that route you won't be scammed out of your money.

  • ….you wouldnt steal a handbag???

Bhaha i thought it was going to be that and I was not surprised. Made me chuckle then and still does. Making out like it's the most shameful thing ever. Maybe they should do something like this for people carrying weapons in public or actual theft from people.

    • If we had Star Trek replicators, then people would download handbags.

I saw your comment and the first thing I thought of was the IT Crowd haha

      • I remember the original clearly but still only think of the IT crowd when someone refers to those ads.

        Amazing show haha

      • yep….ad combatting the rampant piracy of the 00s.
        it didnt work…haha!
