I was looking for a good deal on a Uniden Cordless phone and came across this. Similar deal to 3 months ago (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68753) but now $20 cheaper.
I can't find this being sold at too many other stores, maybe they're being discontinued? The non waterproof version (Uniden XDECT 8015) goes for around $70.
I'd have bought it immediately but I'm after a unit with two handsets, unfortunately it doesn't look like you can simply buy two of these and link them together. Looking at the manual (http://www.uniden.com.au/RESOURCES_MAIN/pdfs/XDECT_8015WP_OM…) I think I would need to buy an extra XDECT 8005WP (approx $94) or XDECT 8005 (approx $57).
If only Harvey Norman still sold the XDECT 8055 + 1WP for $88. To be honest the waterproof feature doesn't even interest me. All I need to use it for is to act as an intercom between two rooms.
Site says "Factory Scoop" stock level: Almost Gone.
Hopefully someone that only needs one handset gets a good deal out of this.
I don't even use a home phone anymore and I guess this would be good for places of business where sometimes they need to answer with dirty hands or keep where liquids might be like food etc
