The North Face Puffer Jacket

Hi all,

I was just wondering whether anybody is aware of places/websites selling The North Face 1996 Nuptse Jacket in black on discount.

Currently, the cheapest price I’ve found is $400 with a 20% off full price discount code on The Iconic (excluding cashback).

Thank you for the help!

Kind regards,
Jordan

      • Why not 2 jumpers from Kmart? Layers are good in Melbourne.

Black north face puffer has been the mandatory uniform in Melbourne for several years now.

          • @Some Human:

            Only with red shirts…

          • @Some Human: Dear leader has approved Kathmandu for those with lower social credit rating.

          • @Some Human: I only wear an Aldi jacket so I guess I am skating on very thin ice now. Can you give me some indication as to how to spot the TNF Jacket Police?

Mind you, very happy with my Aldi purchase, though I suspect they made a mistake and imported European or North American winter weight jackets. Most days it is too warm for me, even here in Melbourne.

  • That seems like a pretty good price for the black one. The black one tends to cost more than all the other colours, so see if there are any other colours you like.

I got mine from here (not the black one). They have a 10% off coupon if you sign up for their newsletter. you could also try a resale site like stockx.

  • What’s the 20% discount code? Dang I ordered one with 10% discount :(

  • That's a good price! I paid $340 last year but it was a closing down sale

  • Are they 4x better than the Macpac Halo?

I'm thinking of getting a new puffer.

Was going to point out that nothing 'premium' ever scales in a linear fashion by price, then Googled this jacket.

It certainly lives up to the name, it appears to be some hipster/retro urban fashion statement.

Do people really wear these things, and if so, can they only be worn ironically?

They are a fashion statement unto themselves, just like wearing Lorna Jane to go to the shops or RM Williams boots if your a finance bro.

        • What's the cliche for TNF puffer jackets?

I'll keep an eye out, but doubt it gets cold enough in Sydney for these to be seen much.

I've got something that looks… very similar already, but it was literally bought in the 90s for sub zero temperatures, so that's my excuse.

I rarely see people wear Northface for hiking. I do, however, see a lot of people wear it all out and about in the CBD and in offices.

        • Their 'summit series' line of gear is very good, but for the most part they cater to urbanites.

  • Jeeeez! Wish I could have afforded $400 jackets when I was a student 😂

  • Is this the style that Dan made famous?

    • Dan made famous

      Amongst other things :p

      • Dan prefers de-puffed jacket

    • No.

  • Best time to buy is end of season. I got one for $280 around October/November last year. Maybe have a look online at UK/Euro sites you might be able to find something as they are heading into summer.

    • Where did you get them for $280???
