How to Become Property Manager and Real Estate Agent in NSW?

I was surprisingly not able to find any page via google. Doesn't seem like there are any info night organised in industry which gives you overview, pathway and study options.

Wondering if there are any real estate agents on ozbargain who can give some info on where to start.

So, obvious question:

A. In order to list on Domain/Real estate, what exact minimum licence do you need?
B. What licence do you need to become prooperty manager i.e. manage for someone else. Where do you study to get that licence?
C. What is pathway to becoming Real Estate agent?
D. What are costs? (study cost, annual costs to keep licence, etc).
E. What are typical institutions people go to study inperson or online?

Above is very basic type info which is typically there in info pack for people looking for career into the industry.

update: thanks for comments from other. found this info so far.. feel free to contribute.

Thanks. I mentioned this already and was not successfull. Did you find any good links that actually answer above questions?

Start with agents representative certificate which will allow you to work under someone with a real estate licence. REIV (and the other state equivalents) offer this course.

Good to know. What is best way to find this?
Is it via contacting local agents or is there specific place they advertise like on seek? What is the job title that i would be searching for?

      • You need to get this before you can start working for a real estate agent as a property manager; https://www.reinsw.com.au/Web/Courses/Course-Display.aspx?Ev…
Alternatively, you could look for a reception/admin job at a real estate agency to get some experience and they may sponsor you for your studies. Just be prepared for the very low pay for entry level real estate roles

Bottom line is you need to work for an agent to get licensed, there is no academic only pathway.
    https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/housing-and-property/prop…
But you can work while you are studying, under supervision.
Tough time to be entering the industry in my opinion.

    • Thanks. that is helpful.

    • You time due to the effect of interest rate increases? Prices in Sydney still seem incredible.

      • Prices remain nuts, but to be successful in real estate you need volume of sales, price almost irrelevant.
All the agents I know are struggling to get new listings and struggling to get buyers to make offers.

Step 1: Check inside of toilet bowl or cereal box for qualification.
Step 2: Lease an overpriced tax break of a car - usually a Tesla or Mercedes AMG
Step 3: Smile and act like you're better than everyone because you list something that actually sells itself
Step 4: Congratulations you're now one of the biggest leaches in society and literally do nothing to value add.

    Rinse and repeat

Plaster your face all over the neighbourhood.
Put flyers into people’s letterbox even if they have a ‘no junk mail’ sign.
When you sell a house, announce it to the world.

    • You forgot the “Sell your soul to the devil” step.

    • You forgot to add that you need to buy the cheapest suit you can get your hands on. Politix is a good place to start

    • Step 5: Have thick skin**

**seems OP has that one covered.

Doesn't know how to use google, how to find answers to simple questions and palms off everything to others.

You definitely have the perquisites for a career in real estate property management.

already mentioned around Google. see first comment. feedback on this thread from others has been helpful.

not sure what point are you making. are you saying these community forums are useless since all information is in Google?

Blames others for their shortcomings, gets hostile at the drop of a hat. 5/5 so far.

You don't need to do a course, you could teach one.

I expected to have one troll in this thread.

First step is to completely ignore any legislation, pretend you don't know the rules, and try to get tenants to pay for things at the end of the lease that they aren't liable for.

First you need to sell your soul to this guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil

step 1 - buy half a dozen suits from taro cash
step 2 - buy a 5 year old eurocar - preferably an Audi or BMW.

step 3 - buy the cheapest hair gel (yes gel, not wax or mousse) and get as much on your palm as possible then slick your hair back.
