    Even after the 30% discount, each point is only worth 0.8 cents. Not good value and not a bargain.

        Classic rewards are usually the best value.

        This post is about 'Points Plus Pay' where they literally just convert the cash fare into a points fare at a terrible exchange rate.

    I appreciate the concept but it's still such a bad use of points even with the 30% discount after looking at a few flights.

    I think I'd only ever use it if I had a small amount of points that couldn't be used for classic rewards and needed a tiny discount.

    Are there certain destinations that are more valuable? Something I'm missing?

    I tried puttig in same route Brisbane-Paris-Brisbane for next year. $3700 if classic reward for three persons and I have to go through Sydney. and $2300 + 520K points and will only stop in Singapore. 30% off at the moment for Points Plus.
