  • No such a thing for 300 bucks.

    • ^ true story. You'd need a SLR with a larger sensor than a compact point and shoot / able to resolve light well at a higher ISOs . which is nowhere near $300.

  • Canon S100 is pretty good but is >300.

  • Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V can be seen for around $300

    or Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20

    or Canon PowerShot SX260 HS

  • You can get the Canon S100 for slightly over your budget at $339 from DWI, but it seems they've been getting a bad rap lately for some reason (I've used them in the past and they've been great, but it's been a while since I've last used them).

Alternatively, you can look around for the older Canon S95, which is still a great camera.

I got the Sony HX9V from the Harvey Norman BOGOF deal a while back, and found it's low-light performance to be decent. They've now got the HX10V, which you can get from DWI for $291.
