This previously popular Android tablet is back on sale. Based on the last AliExpress deal people received the tablet in just over 2 weeks after ordering, which is pretty good for AliExpress!

This tablet for those who are after a smaller tablet under 10 inches on a budget. It's good for light gaming, media consumption, general use, ebooks, Android Auto dashboard, Home Assistant dashboard and more.

There's also Widevine L1 DRM which is a first for Alldocube tablets, however since this tablet hasn't been whitelisted by Netflix it won't display in HD. Other streaming services like Prime Video and Disney+ will be in HD.

I might have got one if I hadn't just bought a trolling motor.

    • Sell me the trolling motor then you can buy one….

  • Anyone have experience using Google Maps/any GPS app with these lower end Android tablets? (is it responsive) Curious if it performs like normal. Thinking of possibly picking one up to install in my 2007 car.

    • I have the iPlay 50 (not-mini), and the GPS is great

    • I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite which is probably the most underpowered small size tablet, so it is on the very low end.

GPS works just fine on that too.

Compared to that, this would have no problem.

    • I just fired up Google Maps on my iPlay 50 Mini and got a "rough" location lock (accuracy circle of about 20m) within a couple of seconds so pretty fast.

  • 8.4 inches.

Mate, it’s not the size. It’s how you use it.

  • Hi, When I see the images in Aliexpress it looks like Chinese language is used in the tablet. Can we select English language as well?

    • +2

Yep this is the international version.

  • I suppose warranty will be non existent.

I have the iplay 50, off the cheapest deal, POS freezes randomly, i mean still works and was dirt cheap at like ~$130 AUD and it plays CODM, not complaining but will buy teclast next again, it only had a faulty charging port after a year!!

wish it was using a more recent CPU. I'm quite happy to pay $200 for a < 9" tablet with 4GB (6GB ideally) RAM and 64GB UFS storage with micro SD slot, BT 5.2 and minimum FHD IPS screen.

I don't know why there's zero interest in the small tablet space. 10"is too heavy to hold for a long time.

  • Good for reading books?

  • Can anyone comment on the battery? It's only 4000mah, that's too small. Man if it only had a Digital Compass + 6000 mah battery.

The previous 8T unit had 5500mAh battery and the upcoming T811M has 5000mAh so 4000mAh is small for a unit this size. Possibly price point issue. The rest of the specifications are good including LTE B28 for Australia. 8" tablets are ideal for GPS roles and the iPlay mini has quad band receiver which is onboard the LTE module.

    • I just looked up the T811M and that's really exciting. 8GB RAM and a Helio G99 CPU in an 8.4" tablet is perfect.

      • Any new code of iplay50? Advertisement stated 89.28usd… couldn't get it to work

        Thanks

  • Anyone have experience making calls and sending texts using this?

Just thought I'd leave a review for future reference.
    - Tablet feels worth the price, and by that I mean 'really good value'.
    - Feels light, which can be a pro/con. My guess is that the battery is going to be failing early given that a quality one usually adds to the weight.
    - Free of pre-installed software bloat. I'm still a bit sceptical about what exactly is installed on this (system apps) given it is Chinese - I'm still investigating.
    - No Netflix HD (I knew this) but it is only 8 inches - SD is fine for use when travelling etc. If you download shows for offline usage, they'll use less space anyway.
    - I bought these for two kids (6 and 8, previously they had MiPad4s) I think it is a good match for their use cases of movies, music, chat and simple games.
    - A little trick with these low powered tablets - Turn on Developer Options and turn off all three "Window Animation" settings. (Window animation scale
Transition animation scale, Animator duration scale). Sluggishness is perceived from these jittery CPU/GPU intensive 'smooth' transitions. If you turn them off from the beginning, you won't care what you're missing, and it will feel a hell of a lot more 'snappy' in most (but not all) cases.
    - Comes with a pre-applied screen protector.

    • Thanks for the review! Have you tried putting a sim in it and basically using it as a giant phone?

      • No I haven't, sorry

  • @Clear do you know if today really the last day for the V3QLWEJCXI68 coupon or is that AliExpress trying the FOMO marketing?

Trying to decide if to wait until tomorrow for the winter sale…

    Thanks

    • Thats the code expiry. I'm unsure if there will be another code for the sale.

      • Thanks. Decisions decisions

        • Are you specifically after this form factor?

          • @Clear: Yeah around 8" with 4G for phone and text messaging.

  • Question for anyone using these tablets. I wanted to use it in my car for android auto / CarPlay as I have the dongle but it appears you can't use a usb-c splitter to use an accessory and charge the device at the same time.

unless its the splitters ive tried but I have had no luck? anyone know if perhaps this tablet doesn't support this?
