Star Wars - Jabba's Palace - A Love Letter Game $9
Ramen Fury $10
Board Games (Sale)
Board Games (50% Off)

Thanks to Groovedaddy's post I had a look at what else was on sale. Some good discounts on some board/card games. Been waiting for Sushi Go Party to be better than $35 for what feels like forever. $20, Nice! Bought Star Wars - Jabba's Palace - A Love Letter Game for a lot more than $9 on Amazon a while ago. Some other good deals in there. I just picked two that stood out to me. Looks like Amazon have already priced matched Jabba's Palace $9 @ Amazon

Edit: Bought/Added Ramen Fury based on puglife's recommendation.

Sushi go party at $20 is a banger deal. Such an easy to pick up and fun game for even 2 people to large groups. Lots of variation in gameplay too. Cannot recommend enough!

I would even pay $20 just for the regular sushi go version. The party version includes a dozen different “menus” that are good for different game play styles.

    • My SO has been difficult to crack. I'm hoping the cuteness of Sushi Go Party will be "the one". We love sushi too, so that helps.

      • Mine is the same but she seems to love Ramen Fury and Sushi Go Party looks similiar so will give it a try.
Ramen Fury is a little simpler, probably similiar to Sushi Go - the portable version

I've seen it a few times when looking for Sushi Go. I've looked it up and it looked OK but kinda had my mind set for Sushi Go. I'll keep it in mind.

Edit: Ramen Fury is $10 at EB Games…

Edit 2: Bought it as well. $10, can't say no.

@ozbs25: Hint: machi koro is cute and an excellent gateway. I got my partner to play and finish legacy campaign. Sadly not on sale often.

            • @Nalar: Yeah, I've seen that on here a few times. Got my eye on that one too.

      • noooo… no stock at any of my local ones!

  • When does the sale end?

    • Sorry, not sure. Doesn't seem to say anywhere. Banner on their homepage just says "Sale on now"

  • Would strongly recommend coup there. Micro macro is fun but not really a boardgame.

Red rising worth it at $28?

I saw Coup but I really need to resist buying so many games when we really don't play any of them yet. I'm hoping these cute games with familiar themes are our way in.

Nice bit about coup is that it's incredibly quick. Very light game that has a good deduction / bluff mechanic. That said I'm totally rubbish at it and will usually self destruct and eliminate myself within a few minutes.

        • is coup similar to avalon?

          • +1

@Grale: Not really. Basically it's a last man standing type game where players can do actions associated with a specific role card people might have. The hook is that you can bluff and say you have any role card you want, however players can call each other out on this with huge penalties. Roughly 5-10 minute rounds and player elimination.

            • @Ezuku: thanks for explaining. might look into it if it's different from avalon and 5-10 minute rounds sounds perfect for the kids.

  • Ticket to Ride and Throw Throw Burrito are both good games.

  • Amazon is price-matching but not everything, e.g. SGP is not included but I nabbed Jabba's Palace for $9; brought up the order to $39 for free shipping, and used the pickup coupon for an extra $5 off the total.
