  • If I didnt just get a SD I would be seriously considering this, although I think I'll get motion sickness from it quick like normal fps games get to me sometimes.

  • Triggered by new XR news shortly?

    • +2

Triggered by Quest 2 and Quest 3 pricing announcements, but these are 2019 and 2020 models… the pricing remains awful in today's value.

Quest 2 is a better visual experience than this despite video compression in link mode (quality level is adjustable, can go wired), but has a 3-setting fixed IPD implementation.

Basic comfort on the Quest 2 is meh and not very breathable, but also affordably upgradable. The Cosmos has inferior tracking, while the Elite has visible light exterior tracking that is a headache. Upgrading to the Quest Pro controllers completely surpasses HTC's offerings.

Effectively the Quest 2 is either better value, or outright better at the same price point.

Quest 3 will be in the $800 range at launch, but I'm not sure the feature upgrades are worth it despite introducing a proper IPD adjustment, it will come down to their new tracking systems for some.

But, without eye tracking it doesn't really do enough to improve graphics unless you have a very powerful GPU. Think 2160p ultrawide @ 120 FPS powerful, though you have stuff like DLSS at your disposal.

  • Is it 995 at EB games or EB games eBay?

    • 995 at eb games ebay store. Sorry I messed up the link and I cant change it myself. I will self report. The ebay link is https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/304921995833

      • And the title too

        • +1

I fixed the title but a mod will have to change the link when he sees my report

        • +1

I separated the shipping fee cause you can C&C at a eb games store saving you 7 bucks which is enough to buy nothing at colesworth.

Damn…HTC still around. Miss their phones

    • HTC Desire and One M8 were a couple I had, wish they were still in the game too.

  • does this has ET and FT?

    • No, but Google would have given you that info a lot faster.

      These are very old headsets.

  • Had the regular Cosmos. Wouldn’t recommend that

  • The Elite is actully alright if you got a powerful pc and have invested in Steam VR already.
Regular Cosmos is not recommed at all.
However, for the price, wait for Quest 3 would be a better option.
Also, if already owns PS5, the PSVR2 is a way better device but the games would cost more and does not has as many games yet.
If really wants HTC, the 1 gen Vive Pro is better for me, and the headset only Pro 2 is just under 1k as well.
Conisdering the overall cost, Quest 2 is the way to go, kind of does everything at an acceptable level.
I do owns the Cosmos elite, PSVR 1 and 2, Vive Pro, Quest 2, 1st Gen Vive, 1st Gen Rift and some other WMR headsets.
The one I spend most of my time on is the Quest 2, just remember to get some good accessories.
