Why Are You Leaving Belong Mobile?

It feels like a lot of people are leaving Belong Mobile lately. Am I missing another great SIM plan, or are the price increases making it bad value?

  • Woolies mobile, just got in before the 1 year price increase. family of 5 last shop was $470 and got 10% off $47 off, pays for itself very quickly

    • Note the 10% off only works for in store shopping. I shop online, and this is a deal breaker for me.

For me, the price increase is definitely the factor. I used to have the whole family on Belong at one stage. Now only my oldest son is on it, but he now pays for it himself

  • Belong Mobile - just cannot keep up with the market expectations. Prices are over the roofs.

Meanwhile Boost -Lyca mobile combo easy chill way less $$, almost a profit every time as a consumer, just need to lower expectations slightly and expect some troubles while changing sims and providers each month or so

Our household has gone from $40pm ($10x4) to $76pm ($19x4) in the last 6 months or thereabouts. I preferred it when their core business was a basic Telstra mvno service with no extra fluff.

    • $10 plan?
      What did that give you?

Unlimited calls and text and 1gb of data pm that rolled over.

I just purchased extra data on ozbargain classifieds cheap and shared it around the family.

Telstra mvno was the most important factor as we live regional.

        • That’s was one heck of a deal indeed, it’s a shame they have doubled the costs now

    • I haven't left Belong, but I was considering switching to it. The $35 for 100GB of data plan for my LAN plus a cheap phone plan topped up from what I didn't use on my data plan at the end of each month so I didn't lose it would have been good for me. But when they pushed their cheapest phone plan up to $19 I decided not to.

I'm on a Woolies plan. The 10% shop attracted me. But its often cheaper to buy what I want when its on special, and the price is reduced far more than 10%, than to have to do one big shop each month.

  • It feels like a lot of people are leaving Belong Mobile lately.

How, pray tell, do you "feel" how many people are using/leaving/joining/whatever a service provider?

    • Coz no other Telcos allow to transfer data freely like Belong, which makes some people to post and make some small money before leave. In other words, People leaving other Telcos keep silent.

There are some people here that buy cheap data and resell for a profit. Doesn't necessarily mean they are leaving.

        • some people here that buy cheap data and resell for a profi

You should maybe call’em out next time?

        • Belong data is unlimited at 1Mbps across all plans, i.e. only the users having not realised it will buy them. The recent classified posts all show the intent is to leave and make small money out of the remaning data.

See this for what 1Mbps can do.

    • The number of people in the classified section that have been saying literally 'porting out/leaving' has increased a lot over the last month or so, thus the 'feeling'.
