Blender Recommendations (Durable, High Performance, Easy to Clean, under $500)

I like smoothies and green juices and have one almost every day I've had two ~$100 blenders fail me in the last 2.5 years. I am sick of sub par performance and short lifespan.

I am willing to pay a few hundred dollars, up to a hard maximum of $500, for a blender that will last ages (7 years+) and perform well.

Specifically, I am looking for:
- makes great green juices (including the challengingly fiberous kale) and smoothies, can handle ice and frozen stuff.
- is easy to use and easy to clean (simple set up and controls, no stuff getting stuck in nooks and crannies under blades etc)
- will last a long time with a solid warranty (given my past experience with cheap crap)

Unlike some other products in different categories that seem almost universally recommended, I haven't been able to find a blender that doesn't have at least 10-20% of reviews saying it broke after a few months or had other issues (unless it's like literally $1000, which is just insane considering I have $13 rice cooker that works just fine), so I am in need of honest recommendations.

My optimum is still going strong after 5 years

    • Yeah mine is around 10 years old and still going great. Had to get the speed controller and bushes replaced a couple of months back but the service was exceptional and didn't cost the Earth, way cheaper than replacing it.

They also sell demo units if the OP is having trouble getting one into their budget.

  • I like a big glass jar blender, but if you are just drinking smoothies why not a bullet one where you can drink straight from the jar, and get multiple jars/blades for when that brown gunk starts coming out of the blade thing.

I have the perfect reccomendation that ticks all your requirements, but unfortunately its $501, so won't make it past your hard ceiling.

No you don't, why comment at all?

  • keep buying second-hand ones from marketplace.

  • I have this phillips one which comes with the glass jug but also a tumbler for smoothies. I’ve been pretty happy with it.

  • I bought one from Kmart about 7 years ago, and it’s still going strong. Blend smoothies (with ice) probably few times a week during warmer months.
