Why Did I Receive $88 from SRO Victoria?

Just noticed $88 had arrived in my account from SRO Victoria. I have been travelling and so I perhaps have missed some news. Did others receive money from SRO too?

    Do you pay land tax?

Don't call SRO and ask them. They might decide you shouldn't have gotten it.

Was this a text message with a link?

    • It was paid directly into my bank account.

to answer the question: you got it because you are 'special'

  • Did you buy or sell a property recently?

So many questions that the op is ghosting.

    • No, I didn’t buy or sell any property in the last 20+ years. I seem to recall some scammers did initially transfer a small amount of money into the account of an unsuspected victim and later on withdrew a large sum out of it. If nobody else has received anything from SRO, I should just give them a call to find out what the money was for.

      • I should just give them a call to find out what the money was for.

And that's why they call you the ideas person.

  • It's your lucky day

  • Just wait 7 months and if no one tries to claim it back you are free to spend it (ePayments code). Also you won't need to worry about the Crypto.com case (where Crypto.com sued after a $10 million mistaken payment and was able to recover most of it) as $88 is less than the cost to hire a lawyer.

    • Thank you very much. I like the advice:)

  • I got a cheque from Revenues Refunds Adelaide, it's from Telstra & I have absolutely no idea what it's for no explanation given
