Got the 66W travel version of this one. Work pretty well for powering my laptops or charging my phone and other devices. Doesn't get hot nor have ever heard any "coil whine"-type of noises from it. Only drawback is when i have my laptop connected, and then I plug another cable, the power distribution will be split between the 2 usb ports, so my laptop complains and says it's going into slow charging mode. This happens the moment you plug in the additional cable, even if the other end isn't attached to a device.

  • Yes I have had a similar issue with the 66W version. I run my travel router off it (GL.inet Slate via USB A 5V/2A Max draw) , plug in my phone or notebook and the power "redistributes" and reboots my router.

The 100W version however doesn't seem to have this issue and my travel router stays up. The other nice thing is the extension AC cord which means you can "desk mount" the adapter rather than having to reach down to a PowerPoint to plug cables in and out.

Seems to be an OEM adapter but I feel more comfortable that its supported by an Australian company rather than some yum cha brand.

  • Has anyone had an issue with using this charger with a MacBook where it keeps power cycling once the MacBook is full?

I have this charger (from a previous deal) and once my MacBook is fully charged, it will keep disconnecting/reconnecting and making the charging sound.

    • Damn, just too many examples and experiences to ignore

      • And there are just as many examples and experiences to the contrary.

        • Depends on your risk profile I suppose.

I own two of their charges, 65W powerpod (been in use for 2+ years) and this 100W version. Both have been flawless in their operation.

      • +2

        same

      • +1

1 of the 66W and 2 of the 100 W and have charged notebooks, kindles, tablets, phones, headphones etc both nationally and internationally and never had an issue.

        YMMV

What particular in that thread worries you?

I've got 2 x power banks, 2 x gan chargers and a wireless charger. I'd say the quality is on par with Anker & Xiaomi chargers & powerbanks I've also got.

      • -7

        So buy Anker and Xiaomi

        • Umm I did a long with Zyron stuff, which is how I compared them.

  • I’m not associated with the company but have been using the 66w and 100w daily. The 66w for the last few years and have never had a problem with them.

Same as a Heymix and probably the same reliability/fire risk.

Use it at your own risk. YMMV.

    • +2

Winter here, energy prices are rising, so a good option.

The only thing is that they appear better quality then HeyMix, so they probably won't catch fire and warm you up. Stick with Samsung phones instead I say.

i want the Ext Power Cord :( already have the charger which is good…
but if buying just Ext Power Cord its $14-ish…

  • Just bought one, will be keen to see how well it works on my upcoming trip :)

  • @ibelievesyd is the EXTENSION POWER CORD an AU plug at the other end?

    • +1

Yes it is. Insulated 2 pin AU plug on one end and a detachable attachment for the charger on the other.

  • I've got the white Zyron GaNFast 100w and it's worked perfectly so far, and I trust it when travelling.

By contrast I've returned two HeyMix chargers, which is enough that I won't buy that brand again.

That extension cable wasn't available back then, darn it. It would be extremely useful for all those hotel outlets buried in small desk enclosures where the brick won't fit, or when attached to a travel adaptor becomes too heavy to stay In a SE Asian outlet.

  • I have this form the last sale and it's quite good. When I charge my MacBook Pro with the USB-C it does fast charging, and when I need it I can charge multiple USB-C/Lightning devices (at less than fast charging) but the utility-to-size is very good. Happy with the purchase.

I would like some clarity on this? Apparently SFC not working on S23 models but works with older models? Thanks

    • Our Powerpod 66W, 100W and 140W stock was manufactured prior to S23 release and needs an update to be compatible at 45W. Therefore it is supports 45W for previous models but not the S23 series unfortunately. Also, this range is being discontinued so there won't be a version of Powerpod series compatible with S23. Our Deskpod 156W and Powastone range are compatible with S23 Ultra.

  • Any idea what this means?

(SFC not applicable with S23 series but works with older models)

I'm genuinely curious as I'm interested in purchasing but wondering what this is about.
I have an S23 Ultra, will this charge it quickly at 45 Watts max?

  • @ibelievesyd finally had the chance to test this charger with the new ROG Ally and it seems it won't provide fast charging… device doesn't have 20V 3.25A (65W) in the listed outputs… is that not a possible output?

    • +1

I reckon it would need more troubleshooting. We'll check some blogs and revert soon

  • Hi OP @ibelievesyd, any idea when the travel adaptor will be available again? Thanks.

    • It will take around 2 weeks
