    I think special edition come with 6 discs and non special come with 4 disc, don't know exactly just found out via amazon

      Correct, the Special Edition has some additional special features, however, a review (found here: http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/5580/planet_earth_se.html ) of the SE version indicates that the video quality i not as good as the original 4 disk version. It seems that the re-encoded video used for the SE version was a bit of a fail.
